Pedro saw the world starkly--all its ugliness and brutality, but also all its pockets of beauty and joy. He overcame much, loved hard, and extended grace to others (even when some would say it was not deserved.) His intelligence, creativity, and ambition were so compelling. He spoke often of his family and friends and the deep pride he carried as a kid from the Bronx. I'm terribly sorry he is gone, and sending support to those of you he loved the most.
