I am so devastated to hear about Pedro’s passing. He was an exceptional person. I had Pedro in my Advanced Editing class during Spring 2019. I know that there was a time during my class, when he was struggling, but I was most impressed by the way he overcame this moment. He became an active and engaged voice in the class, and his sincerity, humanity, dignity, intelligence and determination always shown through. We had a small class and got to know each other by showing work, critiquing and discussing ideas. He talked about writing for television (he didn’t like editing so much), and I knew in my heart that he was going to achieve the big goals that he set for himself so I am extremely sad to know that the world is going to miss out on that. I knew it was important to him to change who and how stories were represented. I feel so lucky to have been able to share this class with him, experience his smile and warmth and get to know him a little bit. I also saw him working at the equipment check out office, and it was always a bright spot, checking in with him from time to time. I will light a candle in his honor. My deepest condolences to your family.

Viví de cerca su formación en Thacher y siendo uno más de los nuevos estudiantes, cuando llegó era un niño inmerso en su mundo anterior, enojado con la "vida", rebelde y triste (sin querer mostrarlo, pero era obvio, claro). Con el calor que la escuela le dio, unido a su personalidad y esfuerzos se convirtió en la estrella de nuestra escuela cuando terminó su paso por Thacher. Todos, compañeros y maestros, admirábamos sus logros y grandes contribuciones a nuestra comunidad.
