This loss is so difficult to accept, I cannot imagine the pain that the Edwards family is going through. I will forever treasure the beautiful memories we shared at KU and in DC. He was the best of us! And while some of us struggle to make sense of all of this, I know that Vincent is truly resting in eternal peace. Love from Montreal, Canada.

I don't know what to say. I echo all of the comments of Vince's actuarial colleagues. He was dedicated to providing professional education to our members and our profession is better because of it. I was amazed at how well he could relate to a group of people who are not known for their ability to relate to people! But that was the kind of person Vince was. He wasn't just my colleague, he was my friend. And it has become clear that I am one of dozens or hundreds of actuaries who feel the same way. As tough as this is for me, I cannot imagine how hard this is for Vince's family and friends who had a personal relationship with him. He will be missed immensely by many.
Having had the privilege of working with Vince for more than 6 years, I was regularly touched by his happiness, dedication, laughter and drive. He gave so much to our CAS community and me as an individual. He will be truly missed and my condolences go out to his family.
I have been on work related calls with Vincent every 2 weeks for the past year and half. Although I never met Vincent in-person, he was truly one of the nicest working colleagues I have had the pleasure to work with. My deepest condolences to his family and to his coworkers at the CAS.
Vince will truly be missed. I saw the positive impact he had wherever he was involved, especially in my experience on the CARe committee. His gifts for and dedication to organization and communication led to better experiences for reinsurance seminar attendees, and made volunteer work easier and more effective for everyone who had the pleasure of working with him. And working with him was indeed a pleasure - his love of people, profession, and life shone brightly through all he did. My condolences to his family.
I had the pleasure of working with Vince for many years on the CAS Reinsurance Seminar Committee both as a committee member and as chair. Vince was such a great guy on both a personal and professional level. He kept everything under control on a professional level while doing so with a smile. He made everyone feel welcome and truly showed his deep caring for everyone he met. Vince leaves a big hole in the CAS and in the hearts of many CAS members who had the privilege of working with him. To his family, I wish you peace and comfort in knowing that in Vince's short 40 years, he touched the hearts of so many people and brought joy to this world!
I had the pleasure of knowing Vince throughout his CAS career. My most vivid memories are at CAS meeting registrations. Vince would always stop what he was doing, come over and say β€œHi” to me, shake my hand and have that big smile on his face. Vince will be missed immensely by the CAS community and the world.
Vince will be missed. I will fondly remember talking about how we each started in Wichita - even going to the same high school - and through some fate met again and worked together for the last several years. Vince's jovial smile and positive attitude made everything he touched better. I hope his family can find peace in these difficult times.

I went through some truly dark times in my personal life. There were times when I couldn't handle the work and I broke down a couple times. Vince was always there as a wise and compassionate friend and mentor, who always gave me a shoulder to lean on and the best advise to help me get through the day. I truly do not know what I would have done without him. He was so full of grace and kindness. I can still hear his words of advise and comfort even now. I am so sorry to all those who knew and loved him.
