I was lucky to get to know Rob and loved hearing about his next adventure, whether writing  a new movie or book. He was always so upbeat and positive about life and was genuinely delighted to see old friends, as well as make new ones.  His movies and books reflected the way he saw life, with wonderful romance,  lovable heroes, and happy endings.  I know Rob is looking for all of us to have those things in our lives.
I am grateful to have known Rob for 30 years and to have been his best friend. We traveled all over America, Canada, and Europe together, laughing constantly and finding goodness in all sorts of different situations. Rob loved people, friends and strangers; he brought joy to any activity and humor to all predicaments. He wrote movies that still  inspire, rescued dogs, adores his students, and has an amazing faith in God. Rob worked hard, took his responsibilities seriously, did everything with great integrity, yet took time to smell the roses along the way- and to care for everyone he met. His friendship, humor, kindness and creativity will never be forgotten.
I’m deeply saddened to hear of Rob’s passing and send love to all of his family. Rob’s joyous nature and ready smile brightened every place he entered. I will miss him, but I know he’s continuing his journey, blessing others and being blessed. We love you, Rob!

Rob is one of the most lovable people I know and I also am certain he continues in the Father’s love and care.

My first conversation with Rob was back in the 1980s and has always been memorable because we bypassed all the small talk and immediately talked about deeper and more spiritual things. How delighted I was to find Rob on faculty at BHS when I first arrived to join the team. I’m grateful to have known him and I continue to cherish his individual and continuing expression of infinite Life.

So much love to Rob’s family and to his many other friends.

My daughter (Chloé) and son (Noah) were students of Rob’s while he taught Jr. High English composition at Berkeley Hall School (BHS) in Los Angeles. His magic was his ability to teach them how to write confidently and from the heart. He was the kind of teacher who listened to each student and responded with humor and insight. He was also quite assured as a public speaker acting as emcee at several Variety Shows that we worked on together. Children of all grade levels loved him - he set a high standard of self-expectation that was infectious. He will live on in the hearts of his BHS students and the gratitude of their parents of forever.
