It was a great honor to be his friend and classmate from East Henderson Class of 1980!   He was a shining star and a true gentleman!   We are all saddened to learn of his passing.  Gone way too soon.

I can't believe it's already been a year since Rob passed away. It's still really hard to comprehend a world without Rob in it, but I'm so happy to have known him during the time he was with us! I loved him and I miss him dearly. I am deeply proud that Rob went part of his way with me. I think it's safe to say that we brought so much joy and happy to one another's lives. And I still love him.

We honor your memory today and always, Rob. Your beautiful soul will never be forgotten. You loved sunsets so much! I look for you in rainbows and sunsets, knowing you are there. I miss you deeply. A part of my heart is forever given to you, Rob ❤

Happy first Heavenly birthday, Rob! I know you're an Angel in Heaven now and I know you're watching me from Heaven. I want you to know that you are alive in my heart. Your love, kindness and your laughter will always remain in my memory.

I am sending happy birthday wishes in Heaven with love and gratitude for all those happy memories that we shared and the time we had together. May your first birthday in Heaven be filled with love and joy! Sending love, hugs and kisses straight to Heaven. Happy birthday in Heaven, my Angel! ❤

Rob was one of my closest friends for years. He always wanted to help others and the day he painted a pangolin was no exception. I was hosting a fundraiser for the animal conservation group I volunteered for.  Unfortunately I found out last minute there was no advertising except for my own.  My friends came to the rescue! Rob drove far just to be here to help me have a successful event. He was always looking out for others and trying to make an impact. He was a wonderful friend and I am so grateful for the friendship we had.

INTERVIEW WITH ROBERT TATE MILLER of “When Christmas Was Young”.

The story follows a headstrong music manager in desperate need of a hit song for his last remaining client who finds himself falling for a gifted singer songwriter with abandoned dreams of making it big as he attempts to secure the rights to a Christmas song she wrote years ago.

ROBERT TATE MILLER: We are very, very excited about this project. Originally, coming up with this idea, wanted to do something that had not really been done that really had a sense of uniqueness about it. And I know you’ve heard there’s 150 movies new movies coming out. Wanted to do a project where you remembered it and said, “Yeah, I remember that one, When Christmas Was Young, it was a little different.” And we feel like we’ve created something that is unique and different, and Tyler and Karen were just phenomenal in this. They really bring this story to life.

All of us have music to me – I don’t have the musical gifts that Karen and Tyler have, but music has been so important in my life. And I think we all have these soundtracks from our life, songs that evoke memories, happy, sad, romantic, that just take us right back to another time. And this movie is revolves around a song which drives the story, and we were fortunate enough to have Sheryl Crow write this song, a gorgeous song, and it is the centerpiece, the core of this movie. And the song brings our couple together and drives the story. So we hope that you love seeing this movie and enjoy the screening, and we really love it and have such a sense of gratitude because we all had a wonderful time doing it. Hopefully you’ll have a wonderful time seeing it.

QUESTION: Robert, what made you want to write this film?

ROBERT TATE MILLER: Well, I love a good love story, and I love music, and it just sort of just the title came to me first, to be honest. I thought, I got to build a story around this title. And then I thought, Well, let’s make it a song title. And I thought it’s kind of unique that a Christmas movie is centered around a song, an original song. And so that appealed to me. It was different than anything I’d ever done. The story came quickly, although it was a couple years of revisions and notes. I believed in it from the beginning and knew it was going to go all the way. I just wanted to make a good Christmas love story, to be honest.

QUESTION: But, Robert, what are the musts that you have to have in a Christmas movie?

ROBERT TATE MILLER: I think the musts, you’ve got to have a good solid story with conflict, you’ve got to find a way to bring them together and split them up, you’ve got to have try to have a unique story that hasn’t I mean, I’ve written a number of Christmas movies, and I wanted this one to be something that really hadn’t been done before. I felt like we accomplished that.

You need snow, and you need a nice small town, usually. You just need a really good solid heart warming story that people can identify with and relate to. And you need to have them solve everything by the end, in the final act.

This is my favorite of the ones I’ve done, and I really, really mean that. I’ve done a number of movies. This is definitely number one, the best experience I had."

I am the Becky of Robbie’s “Calling On A Girl Named Becky”.  I just found out about his passing when I was looking for him to message as we did on and off over the years. He had a way of taking me back to the Echo Mountain Inn,to 1974,and being 16 again and to my sweet 11 year old Robbie. He gave me the honor of being his first crush. He also wrote a screenplay called One Summer about that time. The world is less bright without you my sweet friend 💔
I am so saddened to hear this news. I have known Rob since 1982 - we met while I was on a family vacation in North Carolina and we started dating long distance. The dating relationship eventually ended but we stayed friends over the years. I have so much admiration for him - he had reached out to me at the beginning of the summer to let me know he was going to move back to Florida and was asking me some questions. I was thinking of him tonight and was wondering what he was up to. I was shocked to hear the news. I can't explain how sad my heart is. I know he is in a much better place, so happy in heaven. Much love and peace to you, Rob.
