Ottis was such a loving human being! That’s how I will always remember him. I cherished every moment we spent together during his visits to Mozambique. His stories about adventures with his Mozambican friends were always fascinating, and I loved joking about how Mozambican he had become.

He truly embraced the culture, immersing himself in the music, food, and friendships that made Mozambique special. His warmth and kindness created connections wherever he went, and he had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special.

To Ottis's family, my deepest condolences. Please know that Ottis made a difference and touched lives, both professionally and personally.

Sadly I don't have any photos of Otis to share but I will always remember him sharing the photos of his adventures with me. Bungee jumping in Victoria Falls! I loved his spirit and sense of adventure. And I loved the big hug I would get every time he returned to Mozambique. It was never goodbye, but see you next time when Otis left. We'll miss him deeply.

It was always a pleasure working with Otis. He was professional and warm, always with a smile even when discussing difficult topics like funding to address the conflict in northern Mozambique.
