Dear Holloway family
I am so very sorry for the loss of Otis death brings an unbearable pain to our lives and as times passes all that is left is a gaping hole that seems will never be closed. I wanted to share a magnificent hope that God has in store for mankind. A beautiful promise that will soon be fulfilled and rejoice the heart of many. John 5:28,29 says Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. Soon that gaping hole that is left will be closed and filled with the loving embrace of Otis, May this promise give hope you and strength to continue..

I echo what others have said. Otis was always such a pleasure to work with at CSO. We worked on tough topics together and he brought such a positive, constructive attitude and a willingness both to learn and to help out in any way. Such a kind, bright light...I'm so very sorry to hear of his passing. My deep condolences to his family.

I was devastated when I heard the news of Otis's passing. He was such a kind soul. I only knew him a short time while at CSO but he was definitely one you remember. He had the sweetest smile and gentle spirit. Seeing him in passing or for a quick chat always made me smile. Heaven has certainly gained an angel in Otis. I'm sure his light will continue to shine from above and cover those he cared for. Prayers & blessings to his family and friends mourning his departure from this life way too soon. 🕊️

My heartfelt condolences to Otis' family, in particular, Mrs. Kathy Evins and Mr. Otis Holloway Sr., for the sudden and early loss of their beloved son.
I never had the honor or pleasure to meet Otis but was so saddened when reading the Department obituary notice! Otis seemed like a "one of a kind" individual who went above and beyond, not only as a professional, but as a human being to make a positive difference with those around him and truly touched their lives. The true diplomat and proud representative of our Nation abroad!
Thank you Otis for serving our country in such an honorable manner!
Rest in Peace and joined by our Lord at the same age as His son, Jesus Christ!

I will never forget my first day at the Embassy in Maputo. I did not have a car yet and I needed to ride the shuttle to and from work. It was a bit nerve wracking knowing absolutely no one - that is until Otis came onto the shuttle with his magnetic smile and kind personality. Without fail, Otis would great me with an hello, a smile, and a quick conversation on his night. It made my days so much more full, especially when most of the other people in the shuttle did not speak a lot.
I will never forget Otis's kindness - or his smile.

Otis was an integral member of our embassy community here in Mozambique. Although we worked in different sections, we often ate lunch together and would see each other at parties and events on the weekends. His energy was infectious, and his warm smile brought joy to everyone around him. I remember one of the last conversations I had with him. We were talking about our experience bungee-jumping in Victoria Falls – and how we would never do it again. He was always fun to joke around with and I always enjoyed time I spent with him. Since he was always back and forth to Mozambique, I would always say, “I never say good-bye to you because I know you will be back here.” I wish I said good-bye to you on your last trip, but I know we will meet each other again. <3 Rest easy, friend.
