Jill couldn't get enough of the Pacific Ocean--she'd jump in the water for hours--I'd have to keep my eye on her, because she'd float down the beach without a care.

I am so sorry to hear of Jill’s passing and I know that she and Nick are finally reunited and hopefully both at peace together. I know that Jill lost a piece of her heart when Nick passed, he was her touchstone, and she was his…my mom and I wanted to send our deepest condolences to all of you. I have so many fun memories from my childhood that included Jill.

Jill was a bright shining light in every room she walked into whether she was having a great day or a terrible day, she always brought a smile with her wherever she went. I remember running around after hockey games when we were 7 or 8 dancing around in neon clothes listening to Madonna and Cyndi Lauper probably driving everyone in our houses crazy and watching movies till the sun came up. Getting annoyed with Bill at Tennis camp, whose name I remember to this day because Jill would always roll her eyes and laugh every time he yelled at us for talking too much or giggling about something silly. I wasn’t very good, but Jill was already better than kids twice our age even then.

We caught up a few years ago and it was like not a day had passed as we sat in the Lake Bluff Starbucks from about 1pm until they closed late that night talking a lot about Nick, and life’s challenges, and stupid stuff we did as kids.

Sometimes everything changes but in moments like that it’s like nothing had changed at all. I know how much Nick meant to her and how much she missed him and thought of him minute to minute, hour to hour, day to day, and I know in my heart that they are together now.

This was one of her favorite pictures of that day. You can see why...
Jill absolutely loved Descanso Gardens here in LA. All of the flowers and trees filled her up. She knew everything about what the species of plant was this or that. She'd studied landscape arcitechture and was so in tune with the surrounds in this setting. (she loved that green leather jacket too!)
