Dear Lindsey & Jeannides family,
I cannot pretend to understand the heartbreak your family has been through. Although I didn't know Jill well my memories of your family are full of warmth and laughter, lots of laughter. My hope for you is to find your way back to those wonderful days and memories that will sustain you.
Much love from the Mancuso family

Jill was a kind and giving woman. I hadn’t seen her since Vanderbilt. It’s with profound sadness that I write this. She impacted me in a very positive manner and I’m crushed that she’s not with us anymore. She was a beautiful person. I’m very saddened.

After we rented scooters ā€˜mot…
2001, Nice, France
After we rented scooters ā€˜motos ’ and told the lady we knew how to drive them, Jill pulled out and crashed hers into the business next door. She played it off cool even though her hand was a bloody mess. We then rode to Monaco and to the Matisse museum. In this picture, her poor banged up hand is hiding.
My big sister was the coolest…
1991
My big sister was the coolest with her red convertible Mustang and she loved blaring music from the trunk’s six cd changer loaded with Echo and the Bunnymen, Madness, Belly, Charltans, The Police, REM, Liz Phair, The Smiths.

I'm so sorry for the loss of Jill. I'll always think of her. I’m so grateful to have known her and so upset, sad, & mad that she’s gone
Jill was some sort of Angel I miss her
I left town for a week , it turned into a few weeks or I’d have been there. I was wearing that flower 🌸 halo only a few weeks ago 🄲 I am so saddened and shocked that we lost Jill, a true AngeL
I love you Jill. this is too sad oh my gosh
Jason Kanakis
2010, Los Angeles, CA, USA
From my post on the LFHS class of ā€˜92 Facebook group:

We were really close neighbors for a few years here in LA. I’m pretty sure Facebook actually alerted us to the fact when we both had checked into the grocery store at the same time. While in the store we were both simultaneously alerted to our shared city, neighborhood, produce section……..actually, i was that guy awkwardly staring at my smartphone while blocking someone desperately in need of their $14.95 per lb organic heirloom fertility sprouts when Jill suddenly guffaws……… ā€œKANAKIS……..Kanakis?…..Kanakis!!!!!ā€
At some point my phone was knocked out of my hands and ….. yeah, my phone was destroyed right there….the last Blackberry (relax……it was 2010) turned projectile and a victim of 2 LFHS classmates reunited in produce.

An hour after my phone met its demise, I was picking her up at her place (less than a 1/2 mile from my place…….which is essentially next door by LA standards). We went to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery where they were showing Trainspotting and then Belle and Sebastian were playing. Ok, I realize this might seem really ā€œHollywood,ā€ but that’s mostly because it was precisely that……..extremely Hollywood-y……but in the best kind of way. The best partner in crime for such an evening would easily have to be a high school friend that you just discovered is your neighbor an hour earlier. It makes the contrasting reality / surrealist/ completely batshit paradigms that much funnier. Jill seemed to appreciate these details as much as I did at the time. Particularly while backstage at my friends’ gig………the gig at an old Hollywood Cemetery where your opening act is the movie, ā€œtrainspottingā€ and Winona Ryder is awkwardly eating all the food backstage and nobody is precisely sure who invited her. Jill made a joke about her last name being ā€œRyder ā€œ as the source of confusion regarding snacks………after a moment of silence there was an eruption of Scottish laughter. My +1 may have broken my blackberry (for which not enough gratitude was ever expressed some have argued…….) but her backstage demeanor won over some of the toughest Glaswegian road crew around.

This was around October 2010. We had a truly epic night and we both vowed to keep the class of ā€˜92 reunion going strong……because friends don’t let friends blackberry. Winona Ryder?! I hardly knew her……. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

As a professional musician, my schedule is rarely my own. I was constantly on the road at that time and also firmly in denial of many aspects of my bad behavior. One of the biggest truths I refused to acknowledge was my inability to follow through on plans due to my crazy schedule. With that in mind, I still believe we made it out for a couple of afternoon hikes and maybe even a birthday party over the next few years as psuedo-NextDoor neighbors. Sadly we weren’t able to maintain our blonde ambition tour or pun world domination, but I’ll always cherish the unique circumstances of having had an old friend with me to bear witness to an evening of adult life ā€œmadness.ā€

I’ll miss her and that laugh ……..phone destroying and all.

An unbearable loss Irene, Paul, Lindsey and Steven. I am so very sad and sorry. Jill was such a beauty. There are not words to express this devastating news.
All the O’Neil’s send love to you. We are devastated.
