I was saddened and shocked to hear of the passing of my gift card industry friend, and fellow Buckeye fan, Doug. I always enjoyed seeing him on the gift card circuit and saying Hello. Most recently, I got to spend some additional time with him this past June, at a gift card conference in Atlanta. It was great to hear the passion in him as he talked about family, life, travel, and of course the Buckeyes. Such a great person gone too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Met Doug several years ago at Grace Church. Since those years we've moved to PA and SC. I ran into Doug on 3 separate occasions, though, in airports around the country since our moves. Each time it was great to catch up, even if just briefly. Loved seeing the work accomplished through Water for Good and am happy to make a donation in his honor. Prayers for your family during this very difficult time.

So saddened and shocked at the passing of Doug. We were in the same Grace Group, which he ended up co-leading 20+ years ago. I will never forget his tremendous act of kindness to our family in a hugely dire time. I was beyond speechless when he phoned me to say he could meet our need. He truly was the miracle God provided for us at that time and his graciousness has never been forgotten. Prayers of peace & God’s comfort to Danny, Robby, Leslie, and family.

Just by chance this photo came up as a "Memory" on my Facebook page this morning (August 1st). In my post 8 years ago I wrote, "If a picture is worth a thousand words, this defines it. This is my true friend Doug, standing in his faith, drilling wells so the people of the Central African Republic can have safe water...." Rest in Heaven my friend. We shall carry the torch! God Bless and love to you Leslie!

Leslie, I know how deeply Doug loved you, and how deeply you loved him, it was a true love story. I feel so fortunate to have worked along side Doug, and had the opportunity to travel to Central Africa Republic and see first hand the amazing work that he is doing, along with the team from WaterForGood. The world needs more people who give so much of themselves, Doug was one very special man.
My heart is with you, Doug's sons, and your extended family during this time of grief.

Leslie and family:
Dave and I extend our deepest sympathy. Doug was such a delightful human being - always friendly and helpful. Over the years, we took many an elevator ride with him (and you) since we all were condo floor mates! And everyone at Burnham is so grateful for Doug’s leadership on the HOA board- especially during such difficult times.
We will forever remember Doug fondly! Especially his wonderful smile!
