February 29, 1992... this was the birthday, which happens once every four years, of Dave and Michelle’s eldest son, Danny. Yet they took the time to visit us, not even members or regular attendees of the church he served, in the hospital as we grieved the loss of our first baby. This act of kindness, caring compassion, and words of encouragement forged a 27 year relationship. He was there to help us through many struggles and celebrate with us through many victories. He encouraged our growth. His guidance, friendship, and mentoring will not be able to be replaced. He was our Pastor until 2010, dedicated and baptized (after they accepted Christ as their personal savior) all of our children, preached and taught the Word with passion. He remained our sounding board and friend until the day he suddenly passed. It still doesn’t seem real!
To his dear family... we love each of you and are praying for comfort and strength. To his church family... our prayers are with you as well.
Honor him with your lives and keep the faith! ❤️

I started working at L & L Supply the same time as Dave did. We talked on the phone all day long everyday. What an incredible beloved friend, so kind, supportive, and always a huge smile and hug when he came into the office. He gave me a lot of help with my terrible golf game. I will always miss him. Blessed to have been his friend. Nancy Bright

A great Brother in Christ. Our memories are of a great father, preacher and pastor. Always had a great since of humor. Our deepest condolences to the family. This is not the end! Heaven is dearer than before.
He was everything a man should be in every aspect of his life, husband, father, pastor, friend!! To coin his phrase, he truly was a “tender-warrior”. I can’t believe that there will be people who come into my life that I am close with who will never have had the honor of knowing my pastor, because so much of what I am is because of who he was!
To say I will miss his discernment and wise counsel in my life is an understatement. Words fall short in times like these.
His zeal and positivity was a thrill to be around. He had an infectious laugh and smile. He was an excellent compass, always pointing north. My family was made better by him in every aspect. He was constant, and loyal to the cause. Thank God for Bro Dave.

From coaching high school sports to giving the charge to the graduates year after year, we are thankful for Dave and his willingness to serve faithfully to the families of Cornerstone Christian School for over 20 years.
Dave's love for the Lord, love for his family, and his love for others is a testimony to us all.
We love the Gilbert family, and we are holding you all up in prayer.

I truely didn't know how much I wanted (needed) him in my life. To be out of church at the time, and now not ever be able to make it right with him is... difficult. I should of been there. Not because I'm anybody, but because he was there for me. He truely cared for me, and if I did anything at all it was that I hurt him. I never felt better than when I was following God, his preaching, and his advice. I am truely sorry for this.

My memory of Dave was when he was dating Michelle and I noticed how he would look at her. He was so much in love! You could see it in his eyes. I remember his sweet spirit and laughter. My heart breaks for the Gilbert family.
