My sincere condolences to all of Concha’s family and friends. I have beautiful and cherished memories/conversations when she was a research investigator at CASRC San Diego. Will always remember her contagious laugh and beautiful smile. May you rest in peace, mi querida Conchita, se te va extrañar mucho.

I am so saddened by Concha's passing, and share my deepest condolences. I was quite fortunate to work closely with her for a time and to develop a bond not only as an amazing colleague, but as a sincere friend. I know that countless others had that opportunity as well. My thoughts and prayers are with Concha's family, friends, and all whose lives she undoubtedly touched.

I am sooo sorry about the loss of my very special friend of 47 years!! She meant the world to me and I have never meant another person with the love, empathy, compassion and caring that she had for her family and other people!! She was amazing whenever we talked or got together! I will miss her soo much and am devastated by her loss! I am sorry that I cannot come in person to show how much she meant to me!! Due to a current family crisis with my role as a Legal Guardian, I cannot attend her services! She will forever be in my thoughts and prayers! Rita Regnier

It is with deep heartbreak that I learned of Concha’s passing. The last time I spoke with her, she was joyfully planning a trip to Armenia for the coming summer. I feel truly privileged to have entered her orbit and to have been touched by her warmth, kindness, and profound empathy.
My friend and collaborator Laurence Broers and I dedicated our edited volume on Armenia’s Velvet Revolution, published in 2020, to Concha and James—a small gesture in honor of their spirit and support.
I am deeply sorry that I cannot attend the memorial, as I remain in Armenia, but my heartfelt sympathies go out to Concha’s family and friends.
