The words won’t come. They’ve all been said before and many times over. We said all that needed to be said. There truly are so many words I want to say and someday I will. Angela, my Louise, and mines journey has provided me with many memories, some to share and some to keep close to my heart. She was a fierce warrior, wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, niece, friend and any number of nouns, adjective etc. but, for me, she was my person, my bestie, my partner in crime, my soul sister, my Louise. I’m a better person because she loved me. (Ok Ang, music cue and now its stuck in my head) Some days I pick up my phone to text her only to realize what my brain forgot to tell my heart. Ang is always my symbol of strength, perseverance, bravery, courage, determination all mixed with beauty, grace, class and an Italian attitude! Today I miss you and celebrate you. I guess words were possible after all.

I still haven't processed this loss properly, and I'm not sure when I'll be able to.

This one cuts DEEP. She was....IS....SUCH a beautiful soul, and though I barely knew her a year and a half, she touched me ever so deeply just being herself.

Ang, I once told you how my mother visits me occasionally. I pray you do too.

Love you, kiddo💔😔

It was my great honor and privilege to be part of Angie's transplant process. She was a bright light from our first phone call when her referral landed on my desk. She sent me pictures of herself, wanting to be seen as a person, not just another chart. She reminded my why I do the work I do.

My deepest condolences to all of Angie's family and friends.

A Mary Oliver Poem that remin…
A Mary Oliver Poem that reminds me of Angela
Angela’s family and dear friends are in my heart. I will miss her beautiful posts always urging each of us to feel and express gratitude, and in her honor, I will do my best to practice this as best I can. We shared many interests: birds (how we met in a FB birding group); music (how we met in person at a Colin Hay concert); food, doggos, Portland, laughter. I will miss her posts and learning of how Felix, Bernie, GB, her mom, her sister, her kids, are all moving along through this world. I am posting a poem by Mary Olive that makes me think of Angela.
I am so sorry to hear of Angela's passing! I have missed her posts and her sense of humor and positive outlook on life! I met her in the pancreas/ kidney transplant site! She had her transplant about 5 months before I did. Altho she probably didn't realize it she helped me through my own tough times with her sense of humor and positive outlook on life and my husband and I looked forward to seeing what she would post next! So funny story... my husband had my FB account on his phone so we could keep family and friends updated on my transplant (kidney/pancreas). I got on one morning only to watch myself having a conversation with Angela. Ever watch yourself having a conversation with someone? It was quite fun! Anyway he was asking her what colors and flowers were her favorites. He makes glass pendants with flowers in them and we wanted to send her one!
I can picture her up there dancing with Mark and all her family and friends who passed before her. Watching her grandson, whom she adored, from above and couldn't wait to give him those gigi hugs and kisses. You could tell how she was feeling by her posts, fiesty comments and her positive outlook. She called me a warrior on my tx anniversary this year but she was my warrior queen who kept me uplifted when I really needed it! She will be missed but not forgotten!

I was so proud to share Felix with mom after he was born. She immediately embraced being a Gigi, it came so naturally to her. I've never seen her love anyone as much as she loved Felix!

For Felix's 2nd birthday mom …
2020, Gladstone, OR, USA
For Felix's 2nd birthday mom wanted to go all out. Since we couldn't have others over because of the pandemic, she decided to rent a bounce house. She and Greg turned their backyard into a wonderland for Felix. She joked that we'd have to rent a bounce house every year from now on. She would always go all out on celebrations like this.

My college graduation ceremony. Mom was so proud of me finishing college, I loved sharing that day with her.
