My most sincere condolences. We have lost a winner. Uber creative, passionate, willing to take a risk, and deeply team oriented. It was a gift to work with Tracy, firstly in Boston (92) and the two decades later in Palo Alto.

My thoughts and love to the family of Tracy! Rest in peace! Tracy was a gentle, thoughtful, caring and loving human being! I enjoyed chatting to him about people he was passionate about and wanted to promote and enrich! He was a passionate leader for the people. Rest in peace my brother!

Heartfelt condolences to Mrs Mercer and all at home. Mr Mercer was a great good tennis partner and a remarkable mentor who touched the lives of many with his wisdom and warmth. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working under him at the Four Seasons Singapore.

Mornee and I were shocked to see this on Facebook this morning. Tracy was one of Mornee's best bosses, and I fondly remember creating the musical soundscape for his One-Ninety Restaurant at the Four Seasons Singapore. That was in the 90s but seems like yesterday. Sending our sincere condolences to Tracy's family.

I often referred to you as the Godfather- our personal and professional relationship is something I have always cherished. Not a day goes by where I don’t recall a memory of you.

I am so saddened to hear of Tracy’s passing- Tracy and I both worked at the two FS hotels in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills as F&B Directors at the same time. He was truly a gentleman and colleague, a friend, always helpful, caring, and well liked by all. I am so sorry for your loss and sending my deepest condolences to you and your family.
RIP Tracy! 🙏

One day on the way to a restaurant Tracy was walking right behind me, when all of a sudden he tripped, by doing so he smacked my butt. Totally unbothered he just said “I’ve been wanting to do that all night” His positivity and humor are what I will always remember.

At the staff party you took my guitar, played a song ,and said you feel like a rock star.
Once we were waiting for your car to arrive you told me "Every girl doesn't like to dance, loves to be asked" because I didn't offer to hold your bag.
Your wit and style are something I had and always will admire, respect, and would want to replicate. Thank you for the inspiration, you will be missed.

Rest in peace - Mr. Mercer, my first General Manager. I could explore and discover my way, because of you. Really appreciate it.

I first met Tracy as I joined Four Seasons at The Regent in Jakarta. He would always make time to meet and I only have fond memories of seeing him in Singapore, Japan or Palo Alto. A true gentleman and colleague.
We lost touch in recent years and I am so sorry to hear this news. Sincerest condolences to the family and friends, a Legend has left us but he certainly left a strong impression on everyone he met along his journey.

If Tracy was “into” something, he did it whole heartedly: birds, cars, wine. One year for the employee party in Singapore the Planning Committee dressed up like hippies to perform on stage. Tracy was so into his costume that he took Jose Soriano and me down to the hotel bar in costume to have a drink. Guests were staring at us, probably thought we were some rock band.
His name for Jose was “tall, dark and handsome”, I don’t think he had a name for me.
Coming from Europe and used to just following instruction, he taught me how to think for myself. He would just say “do something, have fun with it” and I would always ask “but what do you want me to do?” It took me a while to get used to that!

I am so sad to hear about the passing of Tracy Mercer. He was F&B Director at the Regent Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills in 1988 and he hired me as Chef de Cuisine for the Dining Room. We worked a few years together then he moved on. We never really reconnected but 35 years later I still have great memories of Tracy as my boss. He was a true professional, funny and fair. But most of all, he was an amazing human being. Rest In Peace Mr. Mercer. God Bless your family.

I am sad to hear of Tracy's passing. I knew him as "one of those North High boys" when he was a junior and I was part of "those West High girls" that were Seniors. We all hung around together and had a blast. Later, at Wichita State, I saw that he had written the most beautiful poem which was published in the WSU paper. Tracy was a beautiful soul. Great memories! My sympathies to his family and friends. ❤️

It was lucky to have Tracy as a Mentor and friend. He shared his knowledge and wisdom with joy and his love and enthusiasm for Chefs and fine dining were inspirational to those who had the provide to work with him and to know him. I will truly miss him. As for a story, I once beat him in a game of one on one!

Kaori, Miko & Malyn, I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Mercer’s passing. He will be so dearly missed by all who knew him and love him.
Even after all this time, I think of Mr. Mercer often. I work in hospitality now and I know that seeing Mr. Mercer work at Four Seasons Singapore was a huge part of why I find hotels & hospitality endlessly fascinating. Mr. Mercer was so passionate about his work and it was clear how much he loved taking care of others inside and out of the hotels and resorts he worked.
When I got to visit Miko and her family in Tokyo after we all had moved away from Singapore, I got the opportunity to tour the Four Seasons Tokyo property he was opening, and I remember I got to “consult” with Mr. Mercer on the uniforms. I thought that was just the coolest.
I remember him taking me and Miko to the movies; I remember him playing the guitar, and I will always remember him as the man with the birds.
All my love to the Mercer family and to all who love and knew Mr. Mercer.
