We have such fond memories of Tracy during our time in Tokyo way back in 2002-2005. What a gracious and kind man, diplomatic and authentic to the core. May he rest in peace.
Rest in peace Mr. Mercer.  It was a true pleasure being apart of your team at FS Palo Alto!
I worked for Tracy in Boston where he created and mentored the strongest food & beverage team in my many years at the hotel. There are so many memories that it is hard to know what to share. I spent many mornings drinking miso soup with him as he was striving to have the kitchen get our new Japanese Breakfast just right. In the early 90’s, the hotel hosted a Food & Wine Magazine Classic weekend with a guest chef from New Orleans ending with a Madi Gras Brunch on Sunday. The Madi Gras beads for the brunch, unfortunately, never arrived from New Orleans and Tracy would not use beads that were bought anywhere else - everything had to be authentic!! So, as a result, Wyeth Persons and I ended up meeting the last Delta flight from New Orleans at MDT to pick up the beads for the brunch the next morning! He was a perfectionist and a true professional. We miss you Tracy!

I am deeply saddened by the loss of my greatest mentor.

Tracy meant so much to me professionally and personally. He had an amazing ability to see not only the potential, but the good in everyone he encountered. I benefited from it countless times over the years, first in Tokyo, then again in Palo Alto. I now carry that forward in his memory and for the benefit of others.

Thankful to have crossed paths with him in this lifetime ...

I first met Tracy when I arrived at the Windsor Court Hotel in 1984. Tracy was my mentor and taught me about wine and service. He was a true inspiration to so many young F&B professionals. I worked for Tracy at the Four Seasons in Boston where he led one of the best groups of people I've ever worked with. He touched so many of us and so many guests in a loving way, as hospitality came so naturally to him. I will miss him deeply.
Two years younger than Tracy’s brother Terry and seven years older than Tracy, I remember my cousin as a toddler.  I’m very sorry for the loss that the family is experiencing as well as the loss of two brothers for their sister Kyle. Celebrate the life he shared and made better for others.
Our deepest condolences to the family. Rest in peace Tracy. We will miss very much.

14 years ago, Tracey Mercer gave me the greatest piece of advice. When I was leaving Palo Alto to move to Toronto, he said that it took much too long for him to get to know the real Björn, and that I should be confident and show people right away who I really am when I arrive in Toronto. That simple advice stuck with me and still today gives me that little extra boost of confidence when I have to adapt to a new environment and meet new people. Thank you Tracey! Rest in peace.
Thank you for being a wonderful human being and GM in Palo Alto. The one-liners that made all of us laugh, your fabulous suits, your love for music and your dedication to your family always inspired me. That Kings of Leon tour bus ;) all the amazing shows at Shoreline entertaining clients, most of all I remember how you truly cared and listened. Thank you for bringing me back to Four Seasons in Hong Kong - that was life-changing as that is where I met my husband. Rest in peace Tracy. Love and condolences to Miko and the whole family.

Tracy was our GM in our boutique hotel in Japan, he was a food and beverage professional with a stellar eye for detail from cultural perspective.  He knew how to make anyone feel at home, even when they were anywhere but home.  Our deepest condolences to his family.

Tracy was one of the “greats “ in our business. He was my mentor at the FS Boston and I learned so much from him ., but his greatest gift was teaching young leaders how to succeed with their careers in hospitality.  My deepest condolences to his family

My condolences to Tracy’s family,

Tracy was an excellent leader and friend. We first met in Tokyo and then worked together again for several visits in Palo Alto. His humor, creativity, and kindness always impressed me. We had a great time and enjoyed cocktails at the end of our days laughing and planning our next meeting. I miss his support and insights. There are too few brave leaders like him.
