I am saddened by the death of Shelly. A neighbor growing up, went to Richland School with her, a college room mate, and a dear friend.
Condolences to all family and friends. Prayers are with you all.

Dear baby sister, from feeding you your bottle to tending you in your last days, I’ve been with you every step of the way for all of your 65 years. I will see you on every walk, in every flower, tree, bird, gallery, concert, and countless other ways for the rest of my days. Rest In Peace.

O Lord, support us all the day long of this troubled life, until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes and the busy world is hushed, the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then in your mercy, grant us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at last, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Shelley, you first shared with me the poems of Mary Oliver. From that 1st read, I was an addict to her and others works. It is one part of a long list - helping with the Refuge Program, packing food boxes, and just this last Christmas, donating new socks to CSS among others - that changed me. You made the world, state and community of Anchorage a much better place. I have no fears of missing you - you are part of our lives forever. Be at peace.

I already miss you dear. Please dance with the painless joy and renewed strength that was taken from you. Now you can thrive in the Lords light. You are bright, light and loved. You have a beautiful family. I was blessed to call you my friend. Thank you for also being a warrior as we both battled for more time. Gone too soon but never to be forgotten. RIP LOVE. 🙏💕❤️💝♥️🤟💃💃

The last poem I read to you 💝
THE GIFT
By Mary Oliver
Be still, my soul, and steadfast.
Earth and heaven both are still watching
though time is draining from the clock
and your walk, that was confident and quick,
has become slow.
So, be slow if you must, but let
the heart still play its true part.
Love still as once you loved, deeply
and without patience. Let God and the world
know you are grateful.
That the gift has been given.
