Really sad news but glad he is liberated from the pain. Performed with him and a group in NUS for a Tamil Langauge Society Sangae Muzhangu show in the late 90s. Awesome guy who wears a perpetual smile. Rip my friend, 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I was deeply saddened to hear about your loss and my heartfelt condolences to each and every member of the family. May you find strength in the love and support of those around you. My prayers are with all of you. May Sharan rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to Dr. Ramaswamy's family. I'll always think of him whenever I think about FIU, Pittsburgh, and Singapore. It still amazes me that we lived in all those places at the same time (1997-1998 in Singapore and 2007-2009 in Pittsburgh) but never met in person until I joined FIU in 2017. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Dr. Ramaswamy's lab in the BME department. Thank you for your support in my research, TA, and publications! Thank you for your guidance, wisdom, and inspiration. You will be missed deeply.

This news is so heartbreaking. I had the absolute privilege and pleasure to work in Dr. Ramaswamy’s lab last year. He was an incredible mentor, dedicated scientist, and kind person. I am beyond lucky to have had him as my first research mentor, and I will never forget his patience and passion for building up students like me and for strengthening my love for research. I am sending his family so much love and strength in this difficult moment. May he rest in peace.

Mallika, Jayram, Samhita and Sprinkle,

Sorry for much shared sadness in our untimely loss. When Sharan was a student in AZ, early 1990's, we spent some time together in San Diego. It was a time before the internet or email and we spent memorable time in conversation and exotic food, which we both relished. He was particularly fond of mushroom curry which  I enjoyed preparing for him on more than  one occasion.. Our dad  was very fond of his younger sister Jaya, who was Sharan's mom. Albeit first cousins, separated by almost a decade in age, we  were raised continents  apart  until those few days  in  America's Finest City.. i am so grateful that we had that space and time together, to enjoy spirited conversations of families, growing up, esoteric cuisine, emerging careers and congenital heart disease.. We are all so  fortunate and privileged to have crossed paths with this amazing human being and accomplished scientist. 🙏❤️

Unaware of his illness, his passing came as a deep shock to us. The Sharan we knew was an outstanding scientist and a gem of a person, genuine in his thoughts and words and loved by people around him. He was clealry an inspiration to his students and set an example of professionalism and excellence in the college. The pain of the loss is only mitigated by the fact that his suffering is over. May Mallika and the kids, his students, and his circle of near and dear ones draw strength from his amazing life and keep alive his legacy of reaching for the stars.
Very sad to hear of Sharan's passing. As one of my oldest and closest friends growing up in Singapore, he was a gem of a guy. His passion and dedication towards excellence was a hallmark throughout his life. He remained a loyal and trust worthy friend, who loved and cherished his friends. Pray God will bless his soul and God's strength and comfort to be upon his family.

Dearest Mallika

What can I say ? I am at loss to miss such a gem like person in Sharan. Fondly recall my conversations with him when I visited Miami last in 2018 as well the time we had when Chitti and I visited. I only pray to lord almighty to give Jayaram, Samhita,, and you all the strength and courage to overcome the irreplaceable loss.

With dearest sympathies from the bottom of our hearts 💕

I was so sorry and sad to hear about Dr Ramaswamy passing. He was such a great and kind person  and a patient mentor to me, I learned a lot from him and the opportunity he provided to me when I most needed it. He may rest in peace.
Many prayers for strength and blessings for the Ramaswamy family.
May the memories of this smart and compassionate man lift up his family in this terrible time. Sending deepest condolences on the loss of this special husband and father

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Ramaswamy. As his first PhD student, I had the privilege of witnessing firsthand his brilliance, dedication, and kindness, not only as a scientist but as a mentor and human being. His guidance shaped my life and career in countless ways, and his passion for discovery inspired everyone around him. It is heartbreaking to lose him so young, but his legacy will live on in the many students, colleagues, and friends whose lives he touched.

My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered always.

He was a wonderful man who will be missed by many.  I worked in his lab at FIU and he was a great leader and inspiration.  He helped me to be a better scientist.  Much love and peace to the family.
I’m so sorry. I’m saddened to hear this. Beyond his brilliance, he was a dedicated mentor and a guiding light to so many in the academic community. My heartfelt condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.
My heartfelt condolences to the family. I had the privilege of knowing a remarkable father, husband, and supportive dance dad to many. During our last Diwali celebration, filled with delicious food, he shared I am good with a good hamburger, and we shared a memorable laugh. I plan to honor his memory by also wanting to “save all the children.”  May he rest in peace.
