I am so shocked and saddened to hear of Sarah's passing. Sarah was a joy to work with and in my early years of teaching, I learned a lot from her. I will treasure the memories from Walnut when our classrooms were close by, our doggy play dates, and her caring spirit.

I am so sad to hear this news today. Sarah made such wonderful treats to share with the Walnut staff, especially around Christmas. I still think of her when I make the puppy chow recipe she shared with me. I also appreciated her taste in books. I would seek her out for recommendations. She was by far one of the best teachers I've ever known. The kids loved and respected her. She will be missed. Patty Morgan

I am so sad to hear about the passing of Sarah. She was always so friendly and nice. Sarah will be missed by all who knew her.
Brian, I am so sorry ! I always enjoyed seeing the two of you together at the ACT. You were a beautiful couple.
I graduated from Walnut 8 years ago and to this day, I often tell people about the best teacher I ever had. She was so brilliant, dedicated, and intentional. She cultivated in me (and many others) a true love of art history. Her approach to teaching actually made me want to keep learning - I have multiple versions of Gardner's Art Through the Ages in my apartment now. I wish I could tell her the immense impact she had on my life. She will be missed by so many.
I am shocked and saddened to learn of Sarah’s passing. She was beautiful both inside and out. Sarah will be missed by so many. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. My heart hurts.
I am feeling so sad. I will miss so much about Sarah: her sweet laugh, her enthusiastic discussions of books, her thoughtful notes to me, and her kindness and thoughtfulness. She always wanted to know about how I was and then listened intently and asked deep questions.
As for her teaching, she was one of the most skilled and charismatic teachers I've ever witnessed. She had complete control of the class in a firm but gentle way, and the students were focused on her every word. Her teaching was brilliant and intelligent, but she also had a great sense of humor. She was a creative teacher who was always looking for new ways to get students to learn.
Brian, my heart goes out to you. Thank you for writing such an awesome tribute to Sarah, your life partner for eight years. She was so lucky to have you. I send you my love and sympathy. As Colleen wrote, she was a beautiful spirit.

Brian-we are all so heartbroken. Sarah was truly apart of our family and will be missed. She was a beautiful spirt, loved learning about everything, always asked about everyone with sincere interest, extremely generous and a fierce card player. I will miss our walks, talks and euchre games. You were a loving and caring partner and we know you will greatly miss her. We are all here for you as you journey ahead. Love, Colleen
