Oh sweet Sarah, I can’t even believe this is true! To say that Sarah was an amazing human being just doesn’t even begin to describe her. I have many memories of her but I think what sticks out the most are the two letters she wrote to me over the years. One came weeks before my wedding and the other a few days after we lost a baby. I was so deeply impacted by her words that I have held on to them and read them over and over. I am so very sorry that she is gone from this world.
My sister and I were just talking about how much we loved Ms Wilkinson. She saw the best in everyone, the impact of which cannot be overstated. I still have one of the notes she sent home to my mom about how well I was doing. It was impossible not to have the utmost respect for her - she was an incredible teacher and an incredible person. She has had such a lasting impact on me and I can see that I am far from the only one. She will be dearly missed.
I am incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Miss Wilkinson.
Like so many whose lives she touched, Miss Wilkinson will always remain one of the teachers whose impact on my education I most cherish and respect. Looking back on my education, her art history course at Walnut Hills was truly my first taste of what a college course could feel like, and her ability to do gracefully lead us through that coursework gave me immeasurable confidence in skills that I have used throughout my time as a student in college and beyond.
No matter what field of study someone was interested in, every student of hers I have met not only adored her class, but emerged from it with a greater appreciation for art and its role in the world around them. Good teachers can make sure their students learn the course material, but teachers like Sarah Wilkinson go far beyond simply teaching and instead instill appreciation for the subject. Although my career has taken me far outside the fields of art or history, I can still point to moments in my day-to-day life that are improved due to what I learned in her class over a decade ago. She will be dearly missed as one of the most impactful educators I have had the fortune to know.

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of such a beautiful, generous member of the WHHS teaching family. My condolences to you, Brian. May your memories of her bring you comfort, and may you carry a part of her in your heart always.
Ms Wilkinson was articulate, confident, smart and sharp. As a student of hers in AP Art History, she brought love to the arts and how it enriched the human experience. She was one of the best role models I had in high school, especially as a young woman. Her teaching greatly increased my writing and ability to note complex qualitative patterns; things I use every day in my career. I am so grateful she was stubbornly considerate And demanding to ALL her students. I still remember her MA Hadley name plate on her desk, loved the signature blue ceramic glaze- it was so her. :)
Miss Wilkinson was one of the greatest and most influential teachers I've ever had. She shaped the way I see the world and my place in the arts. She will be dearly missed.
I am so sorry to hear this. Ms. Wilkinson was one of my very favorite teachers. She shared her deep knowledge and passion for art history with her students at all times. I loved it when she once told me my skirt looked like it was made by Fra Angelico. She knew how to make things fun - one day she asked the whole class to lie down and try to draw upside down in the dark - but she also had high expectations and helped us exceed them. She was warm and generous with her time, and each one of us felt uniquely seen and valued. My deep condolences to her family and friends.
I was lucky to have Miss Wilkinson as a teacher twice while attending Walnut Hills. She was one of the most incredible educators I have ever met. Her passion and intelligence was surpassed by none. She inspired me to become a teacher, and I am so thankful for the time I spent in her classroom. I will always remember her impassioned lectures, her postcards home, her bright red lipstick, and her unending depth of knowledge. She made all her students feel special and loved. Miss Wilkinson will be terribly missed, but her impression upon all she met will live on.
Even though I know I was not one of her best students, I never doubted her belief in my abilities. I had a passion for what she taught, and she taught in such a wonderful manner. She was a bright light in (the somewhat monotony of) high school. She visibly and openly cared deeply for all of her students.
Shared a heart Red heart

Ms. Wilkinson was by far the best educator I have ever experienced. Her passion and unblemished knowledge were awe inspiring. To this day I carry not only academic knowledge that she passed on to me, but valuable life skills that are utilized daily. I have never met another student or parent, who had the pleasure of knowing her, with a single negative thing to say. May she rest well and her legacy will live on in all of us. Thank you so much Ms. Wilkinson I will never forget you.
Ms. Wilkinson clearly made a deep and lasting impression on so many of her students, myself included. Her art history class was one of my most memorable high school experiences, and still shapes so much of how I see art and architecture. I’ll never forget how kind and supportive she was when I had to miss an extended period of the year, and she put together personalized lesson plans for me. She was a truly compassionate and brilliant person, and will be missed.
I will miss Sarah so much. So kind, so brilliant, so sensitive....
I will treasure the memories of our friendship.

Like many others, Ms. Wilkinson was one of my favorite teachers at Walnut. Eight years later, I continue to carry her enthusiasm for art history with me. I still can’t walk into a church without noticing the nave or the transept. Ms. Wilkinson taught us to look for the beauty and the history in the mundane. I am so grateful to her for that. My sincere condolences to her family and loved ones.
Ms. Wilkinson was my AP art history teacher my junior year of high school. Her passion and knowledge was apparent, even from my self centered, teenage viewpoint. I learned things from Ms. Wilkinson that I still remember to this day - you can bet I know the difference between Doric, ionic and Corinthian columns. You were such an asset to my education and made me a better and more complete person, who appreciates the value and power of the arts. You will be dearly missed.
I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Her Art History class was a huge inspiration for my college studies- I minored in Art History and majored in History. We were so fortunate to have her at Walnut Hills- an incredibly kind and smart woman.
Ms. Wilkinson was my favorite teacher and literally changed my life. When having her as my teacher for 9th grade history, she pushed me to apply for AP courses and she would eventually go on to write letters of recommendation for my college applications. Saying I am sad to hear about her passing is an understatement. I hope she knew just how much she impacted her students.
My brother, Jacob, and I were lucky to have Ms. Wilkinson as an art history teacher at Walnut Hills. She went above and beyond as a teacher, not only presenting class material in a thoughtful and organized manner, but also writing meaningful personal notes to students. My brother and I graduated in 2011 and 2014 respectively, and we still have one of those notes up on our refrigerator
I am absolutely heartbroken to hear this. She truly changed my life. Solely because of her, I studied Art History in college, and I carry that knowledge and passion with me to this day. Her love of the subject, shrewd sense of humor, and fiery intellect were contagious, and she is directly responsible for the paths I pursued. And on a surface level, those perfectly put-together ensembles on that darling petite woman were endlessly charming. I think of her often, and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to learn from her. This is a tremendous loss, and I am sending you so much love and my most heartfelt condolences.
Ms. Wilkinson was one of my absolute favorite teachers at Walnut Hills. Her love of Art History was so contagious. She always held her students to a high standard and cared deeply for us, sending postcards home to our parents about our progress. She will be greatly missed.
So sad - Sarah and I worked together for many years, she was the most caring individual I know. Rest in Peace Sarah -- =my sympathy goes to Brian and all of Sarah's family
