Roy was born in Chicago, Illinois to parents Mary Weatherspoon Carney and Roy Carney III (deceased).  Even though his father past away at such an early age he still had a happy and fulfilling childhood.
Roy moved from Chicago to Bude,Ms. in his early childhood and was raised with Grandparents Dock and Ruth Weatherspoon. There he started to develop lots of interesting characteristics.  He became a “Jack of All Trades” at an early age, under the influence of his grandparents, relatives and friends.
After his Mother relocated from Chicago, he moved from Bude,Ms. to Meadville Ms. with her. Roy often spoke about growing up with his first cousins, the adventures and mischiefs they got into. He always was very protective of me (Christina his younger sister), being the only girl around he always said you are “such a Tomboy” Roy continued learning different trades as he competed his high school education. There he found out he was quite skillful in football, which he later proved. Along with learning skills of logging, construction, welding, etc. my brother could drive any vehicle with wheels with no problem.
Roy later relocated in Houma, La. Where he started working Off Shore. There he met his loving companion Linda Sheppard and family. He seemed content and happy.  Roy has three sons, his eldest son Al Joshua  had gained a very close relationship with his father, finding out he had talent, skills and a personality that he loved to be around.  On June 21,2025 Roy passed away, he leaves to mourn: His FiancÊ Linda M.
