I was shocked beyond measures when I heard the news of Bro Rotimi's passing. He is my senior at Command Secondary School , and my elder brother's colleague that became my friend and brother. He was always full of smiles, gentle and simple! He was a down to heart person.
I believe you're in a better place and pray that God comforts those you left behind.

Keep resting, Bro. Ma sun Olufe, ki o sinmi laya Kristi... We do not mourn as those without hope, for on Resurrection morning, we shall surely see again. Good night!

Hmmm I feel so sad writing this. It was a rude shockim hearing of Rotimi's transition to glory a few days ago. Rotimi has been a dear friend since 1990's at Akobo, having lived on same street and attending UI together. His gentle nature drew many to him. His smile was his signature. He was a cheerful and dependable friend, and I hardly remember him getting angry at anyone.
You were dear to many of us and would really wish to have you around for much longer, but we know God has a reason to call you home at this young age. May God comfort your family and all of us, your friends. May God grant Rotimi eternal rest, amen.

Rotimi mi, my darling, my friend and gist mate. It is with a very heavy heart I write this piece. To say I will miss you is an understatement. I remember our days at Akobo Baptist/Iyana olopa
I remembered how we took turns to mind Oore ofe (ton to) and she called uncle Lotimi whenever she saw you.
I remembered our endless gist about anything and everything.
In my over 50yrs of living, there was not a time I saw you frown or angry about anything. You always see the positive sides of every challenge.
Your smile and dimple will dimistify any challenge. You heard your master's call and you answered, without saying goodbye you journeyed on.
Rest on my brother, Rest on my friend, Rest on Rotimi mi
Till the resurrection morning, ti ekun ati irora yo doping

From the days of our childhood, you walked beside me not only as a brother but as a friend, a guide, and a soul full of compassion. We grew up together sharing laughter, struggles, dreams, and the simple joys of life. Your kindness, your giving spirit, and the love you showed to everyone around you will forever remain in my heart. Your voice, your laughter, and your gentle heart will continue to live in my thoughts. You taught me the value of love, family, and compassion, and those lessons will remain with me forever. You promised to see me by June or July, never knowing it would be the last time we’d speak and that we would never see each other until we meet again, you will always be remembered, deeply missed, and forever loved. With a heavy heart, yet holding to the unquestionable will of God, I bid you good night, Rotimi.

Rote! Words fail me, such an easy going guy, always smiling, I recall years back as colleagues when the pressure gets so bad, Rote always had a way of making a joke and letting everyone loosen up. Indeed a rare Gem! To his dearest wife Femi, my personal person! May the Lord continue to comfort and uphold you, the children and the entire family at this time and give you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss in Jesus mighty name🙏

I didn’t get to know him personally but as an old student of the same alma mata, I would love to pay my last respect to this gentleman, Mr Rotimi Fatokun

I saw you late last year when you visited my office and we shared some good moments. I wish I had held you a little longer just to say “thank you” for everything you did for me while we were in the bank.
You went out of your way to assist me with so many transfers simply because you knew I was Lanre’s friend. Your jokes always calmed my worries, especially during those stressful moments when things weren’t going smoothly at work.
I guess God just wanted me to have one more chance to see you again, to hold your hands, even after we had both left the bank.
Rest in peace, egbon. Thank you for your kindness, your warmth, and the memories you leave behind.

A school mate that became a friend. A friend that became a brother. Your family even became my family. Rotimi, the news of your passing came as a rude shock and was quite devastating. I still can't comprehend it.
After 41 years of knowing Rotimi, I am bold to say, he was a great friend and brother. He always meant well. He was such a kind soul. Never making enemies. Rotimi Fatokun wanted the best for everyone. Well trained, he was a reflection of a great home.
The vacuum you left behind will remain a monument. You are irreplaceable.
Farewell brother.

As the scripture reminds us, for everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
We profoundly regret with heavy heart to pay this tribute to a remarkable man whose life touched countless souls. He was truly one of a kind. A man whose presence filled every room with warmth, strength and wisdom. He was hardworking, determined and strong.
Losing you left a space that can never be filled but we take comfort in the kind of life you lived. A life full of love, service, laughter and dedication.
Until we meet again, you are forever in our hearts. Rest in the arms of the one who loved you beyond measure.

In Loving Memory of Rotimi aka Sankora: A friend of many Decades..
It is a lifetime of shared history with a friendship forged in the classrooms of our junior school and tempered through decades of life’s changing seasons.
Rotimi’s passing feels like a light suddenly extinguished, leaving behind a silence that words can barely touch.
Through his time in CSSIB, halls of the University of Ibadan to his career in the financial sector, Rotimi remained a pillar of warmth. Our bond was intellectual as it was personal. I will miss our vibrant discussion on the future of Fintech—moments where his extensive experience was easily obvious.
Rotimi was a rare soul: profoundly amiable, instinctively supportive, and possessed of a nature that seemed to defy the very concept of aging.
When we were together at a financial conference just earlier this year, he was still his radiant self—bubbly and pulsing with an energy that made the thought of "goodbye" seem impossible. I had no way of knowing that our meeting that day would be the final echo of our journey together.
Rotimi, you have left a void that four decades of memories can barely fill. You were a gentleman, and a dear brother. Though you have stepped into eternity far too soon, the light you carried remains undimmed in my heart.
Rest peacefully, dear Rotimi.
