Roger was one of the first people I met when I moved to Breckenridge over 30 years ago. We spent a lot of time together both at work and play and I will miss him terribly. Jackie and I send our deepest sympathies to you Denise, and much love.  Dave Stoffel
Shocked and very sad to hear of Roger's passing.  One of my favorite people on the planet! Always smiling and happy to see me and everyone. I will have to repay the many Beers I owe him on the other side. RIP Roger, thanks for your friendship, our heartfelt condolences to Denise and family. Love, Bob and Jill

I worked with Rog at the Breckinridge ski area in building maintenance daily for over 5 years and he totally changed my way of thinking about life. I’ve never met someone so happy and up beat in my life and that rubbed off on me. My life has greatly improved because of how I look at daily life and that is largely in part to spending so much time with him. He unknowingly taught me about life. He also taught me trade skills. I regularly use one of his sayings( and always with his accent of course)  “ some days you Gotta be smarter than the wood “  or “ Our work has a taillight guarantee “ . One time him and I were working on a door at the ski area and some guests with thick Texan accents started talking  with roger. After a few minutes they complimented him on his accent and asked him if he was from England…… Roger looked at me… smiled… looked at the guest and said “ Yeah….The New One”   🤣🤣🤣. I could fill pages of great memories with him.

So very sad to hear of Roger’s passing. He was wonderful to work with; provided many moments of laughter and fun! Our hearts go out to Denise; may the comfort of friends and loved ones help you at this difficult time. Pierre & Cathy

Wow!

I’ve lost a lot of friends recently but This one hurts. I met Roger as an 18 year old punk working grounds and building maintenance at Breckenridge ski resort. We spent 4 summers and three winters together. We were renovating a hut on peak 8 and there was so much mouse shit he coined the name “Hanta hut”. Lol. His smile demeanor and positivity will never be forgotten. I to this day consider him a mentor. His skills, experience and knowledge of life were and are of great significance to me. I’ve only met a few few men capable of smiling in the face of shit. That sob grinned it into flowers. I lost touch with roger for a decade plus. And one day this summer I saw him at a place I was working and couldn’t let the face go. As he was leaving I said hey man I feel like I know you, he replied that’s funny I was just telling my wife I feel like I know that guy. Took a couple minutes to figure it out but eventually we did. Over the last eight months I saw him frequently and got to reminisce over times and memories of importance to me and hopefully to him and people that I lost touch with. He repeatedly offered me to come up to his place and ski and I regret that I never did. If I had known this would be our last year together I surely would’ve taken him up on that. I am grateful for the lessons experiences and time I got to spend with him because not everybody is as special as what that man represented. Rest in peace my good friend.

Roger always had a joke at the ready, that big grin and then the wink. Always the gentleman.

My strongest memories of Roger are of the sparkle in his eyes, his ready laugh complimented by his massive smile, and his awesome accent. Best of all he deeply loved my dear friend Denise and showed it in daily life through thoughtfulness, support, and kindness. I'm holding each of us that knew and loved Roger in my heart as we find our way to living life without his physical presence. Thankfully he will always be with us in our hearts.

  • Denise. I was  so shocked and sad to hear of Roger's passing. He was a beautiful soul and we all had so much fun working with him at the Hilton. I feel greatly honored to have met you two and all the good times we had. My love to you. Sonya Smith.
