I knew Rodney from junior high and from cross country/track. Anyone that was around him always had a smile on their face.

Deepest condolences.

We are so heartbroken and still in disbelief. Rodney was such a kind-hearted, sweet, funny, humble, and intelligent young man. He was also a very talented musician. We loved when he played the organ for our youth choir at Greater Turner Chapel AME Church because we rocked the church every fourth Sunday. Rodney's smile and energy was very contagious because whenever you saw him, he was always smiling and never seemed to be in a bad mood. Rodney we will miss you so much and you will forever be in our hearts!! Rest in eternal peace my love!!
Sending our prayers to the Earl and McBride Families.

With sympathy and love,

Rodney was new to Paideia when Annie Perry and I taught him in 6th grade during the 2017-2018 school year. He made friends quickly and, after just a few weeks, it felt like Rodney had been at Paideia for years. Yes, Rodney was funny and fun to be around. However, he also had a remarkably sharp mind, especially when it came to history. This was undoubtedly a result of growing up in a house with Chantee. Rodney loved history and politics. He was always asking great questions and making important connections to what was currently happening in our world. I am sure he had been following the news of the last few months with great attention. I would love to have known what he thought about all of the changes and challenges the USA is experiencing now.

Kids loved Rodney. Teachers loved Rodney. He had a smile that was utterly contagious. Rodney was tender, thoughtful and sincere. He also had a playful, somewhat mischievous streak that helped remind all us old folks to not take life too seriously. Rodney and I shared some uproarious moments of pure laughter together. I am thankful that I got to share so many giggles with such a character.

I will miss you, Rodney.

Your friend,

Patrick
Rodney was one of my closest friends throughout elementary school and there was never a dull moment with him. He was always radiating with love and energy and cracking a joke to make everyone laugh. I truly looked up to him, he was so kind and passionate in everything he did. Thank you for being in my life and sharing your positivity and warmth with me, Rodney, rest easy. I send my love and deepest condolences to his family and friends.
Rest In Eternal Peace love! Caleb and I are going to miss your leadership and that God given talent of yours. Praying for strength and peace for your family and friends.
I knew Rodney through the track and field and cross country teams in middle school. During one of the races in cross country, we used each other to pace ourselves and ran side by side for the duration of the race. I am glad to have known him and I give my condolences to his family and close friends.

Rodney is one of the closest friends I will ever have. Rodney was an amazing person who was kind to everyone. He was a very talented musician, dedicated friend, and hard worker. I will miss his warm smile and contagious laugh everyday. His memory will be in my heart forever. I love you Rodney.

Rodney was an incredible person, amazing friend, and the most talented musician i knew. When we were in Patrick and Annies class in 6th grade, we would spend many recesses in the band room playing our instruments. Watching Rodney play the piano was mesmerizing. He was so dedicated. His smile was terribly infectious and would light up the room, and apart from being the funniest person I knew, he was also the sweetest. Sending love, and condolences to his family and close friends during this time.
Rodney was a dear boy, smart and talented. I remember when he arrived in the Paideia elementary school with his bright smile. He will be missed by his many Paideia friends. We grieve with you during this sad time.
I remember seeing a kid struggling up a hill on a bike, on which the seat came up to his chest. Once he got up the hill we rode our bikes around a four-way stop for hours, just talking about the first thing that came to our mind. I knew that I had found a friend.
For years to come, when I felt bad, I would hear my doorbell ring and know that my day just got a whole lot better. The thing that always stood out the most to me was how impossibly optimistic he was. As I’m writing this I realize that almost everything I said, “That’s impossible,” or “We cant do it,” to, we did it. We found some rusty old cast iron pipes. Later that day I had a swingset with a swing on it. I also had a large bump on the back of my head, made by the sheer force of a twenty pound piece of metal on the shoulders of a smiling kid pretending to be a helicopter. We found snow and we made a life size throne. If we found anything with wheels, you better believe we would be going upward of twenty miles per hour on it. Once we found a house with free things in the front yard because the owners were moving out.
Jackpot.
There was a fifty pound box TV, and with the help of a shopping cart, a bike, and a rope, we were soon in his backyard watching a movie. There was also a thing to hang clothes that had wheels on the bottom. Naturally, we rode it down the biggest hill we could find.
He never failed to make me, or anyone for that matter, smile. He never took no for an answer when it came to doing something nice for someone or having fun. His smile and sense of humor was simply contagious. You wouldn’t be sad around him. He wouldn’t allow it. Which is why our hearts are in so much pain right now. Rodney, wherever you are now, know that we will always love you, and will never forget you.

I was so lucky to meet Rodney through running in middle school. He was always a kind and funny person. I got to learn about his love of music and life just by talking to him. I particularly remember running at state with him back in 2017. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing and will miss him dearly.
Our family is so heartbroken. We remember Rodney fondly from Paideia and Track and Field meets with our son Nicholas. He had a magnetic personality and the most beautiful unforgettable smile. Please accept our most sincere condolences. The Fuenzalidas
Our hearts are broken today. Rodney brought joy and laughter to our family over the past 6-7 years. He was a dear friend to my son and someone who has made an impact on countless people with his sweet, loving nature. He impressed us all with his many talents. He was such a wonderful balance of wisdom and fun. We are praying for comfort for his family and friends. Our lives have been forever touched by Rodney and we will miss him terribly, but we are so thankful for the many blessings that came with knowing him. We treasure the many good memories and we look toward the day when all of our hurts are healed. We know that God is close to the brokenhearted. Psalm 147:3
Chantee, Eli and I would love to attend Monday's service if there is room.
