A wonderful man who led a wonderful life. My heart goes out to Helen and their daughters Genna and Marcy for their deep loss, but what a celebration of life they all shared with him.

Dr. Ayres….Sending you and your daughters prayers that you may be surrounded by the love of friends, family and community during this difficult time. Your husband sounds like a wonderful man who touched the lives of many. May his kindness live on through each of you and you still feel him with you. With love, Ashley (Berger) Heyburn

Dear Genna, Marcy, Helen, and everyone who was a part of Phread's lives, I am so so so sorry to hear this. It's been a long time since I've seen you all, but I can still hear Phread's voice, calling me by my full name, a "How you doing?!!", and a giant bear hug as clear as day. I can still remember going over to playdates at your old house closer to Hawes, and throughout the years growing up, Phread was easily everyone's favorite dad (along with the entire Ayres family and their love for one another as a source of comfort and positivity). The unconditional love he radiated as a person was palpable and contagious. I feel incredibly lucky and grateful to have experienced his presence even for a little bit, and my heart aches for you all. I believe energy never dies, only changes, and his love was and is eternal. Sending much love.

I am so very sorry to hear this sad news. It is an incredibly painful loss for those who were privileged to know and admire Phread. He truly was a remarkable man ,kind and supportive of others.

I was dismayed to discover the passing of dear Phread. I haven’t kept in touch over the years but one of the pleasures of Facebook is being able to follow people you have cared about as they live and post about their lives. Phread was one of the really good guys, his laugh and warmth lingering long after he left the room. He and Helen created such a lovely family. I miss you all and will deeply miss Phread. The world is not the same without him. His love lingers on.

I am so saddened and sorry to hear about Phread. He was my housemate many years ago. He and I also attended recording engineering classes together in Manhattan. Phread was always a happy, easy going friend that got along with everyone and everybody liked him. A great sole. My condolences to his family.

I am sorry to hear of Phread’s passing. I enjoyed working with him in his classroom and on the 7th grade team at Schuyler. He was a mentor and a friend during my early years of teaching. He always checked in with me when I was teaching in the classroom right across the hall from him. He will be greatly missed and I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Sending love.

Dear Helen, Genna and Marcy,
Adam and I were so saddened to hear of Phread's passing. I have many good memories of working with him when I was DRE. He was so great with the youth. And he was also so helpful with the audio "stuff" for the years I worked on the budget drive. We'll be thinking of you during the coming weeks and months.
Warm regards,
Eileen (Jarrett)
