I am so sorry to hear of Phread's passing earlier this month.  Always such a lovely kind person.  He was gracious in the face of some serious ribbing when we were kids.  6 girls vs the King. RIP.  I will always hold Cotuit close in my heart and Phread was a big part of those memories.
We are so sorry to hear of Phread’s passing. He was a dear friend, that I met back in the 70s.  I’m so glad I saw him at our “reunion “ in 2018. He could light up a room with his kindness. Deepest condolences to the family.
I was so sad  when I heard the news of Phread's passing. He was a wonderful human and the world is changed because he left.
Even as a kid, I knew Phread was special and unique. When I think of him, I see hiking boots, blue jeans, keys attached to his belt loops, and turquoise jewelry.  I remember wondering if I would run into him when I went to Ramsey Outdoor during the years he worked there.  I have memories of him during my time at the UU society and during youth group - he was a great chaperone for one of our field trips. As a UU kid, I thought his full-time job was doing the audio for the church -  I can still visualize him standing over by the audio controls. He did things with such sincerity and kindness. He was an adult I knew I could trust.  I am so glad I got to experience him. I am so deeply sorry for your loss - he is missed.

I was a new friend to Phread. I was new but Phread had me feel as if we were friends forever. At the memorial I heard what my friend was to others. Phread was a wonderful person. He was a champion in dealing with his mouth cancer. I saw Phread during and after his treatment. When I heard of Phread’s passing I felt as if I had lost a brother. I'm going to miss him, his laugh and warm hugs. My condolences go out to his immediate family, his close friends, and everyone who met Phread in their passing. Anyone who ever met Phread knows that they met someone was real.

Phread's memorial service was a beautiful tribute to a beautiful man! If you missed it, the video is now posted on USR's YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/9szmZiFXH48

They say Life is a gift, and the gifthat was the wonderful human being Phread has left us. We are so very sorry for Helen, Marcy and Genna, and all of us that had the good fortune to have Phread in their lives. Sending prayers of comfort and strength. He was truly a kind soul
Helen was my boss and we went through the height of the pandemic and many zoom meetings working together. So it was natural sometimes Phread came up either by reference, audio, or visual. When he popped up somehow even by accident, I saw he always made Helen laugh and smile even in the gloomiest of times. I was also able to see another lovely part of their partnership in realizing what was most important and deciding to retire together. To Helen, Genna,  Marcy, and all grieving, I am so sorry for your sudden loss. Phread clearly made the world better being in it.
No year and no location necessary. I believe I first met Phread either at a Youth Con, or at an Advisor Con run by youth, I can't really recall, but we hit it off right away. Two tall lanky dudes with 2 daughters making time for youth to build community. Used to enjoy seeing Phread and catching up at the Cons until his own girls got more involved in the community, and then I think Phread stepped back a bit on the Metro level. I am not sure there is any one story, however, there was this one time with one returning youth, that Phread knew way better than I as he had been involved longer, and she finished up the year I started. Anyway, as anyone knows, when you haven't seen someone in awhile, the memory gets a little fuzzy, and this young woman had stopped in at an event we were hosting, and saw me, who at the time was sporting a Phread beard, and ran up to me and gave me a hug and said something to the effect of "So good to see you Phread", and that was the beginning of my alternate name of "Not Phread", and Phread's alternate name of "Not Eric". A simple story, but we ran with that for a few years.
