A GREAT MAN, A GENTLEMAN AND A GREAT FRIEND TO HAVE. EVER SOFT SPOKEN, FULL OF HUMOR AND GREAT ADVICES. WE WILL MISS YOU GREATLY. NIGERIAN COMMUNITY IN CALGARY WILL MISS YOU. WE LOVE YOU BUT GOD LOVES YOU MOST.
OUR CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY. MY WIFE ADEBUSOLA MATILUKURO AND THE REST OF MY FAMILY WILL BE WITH THE FAMILY IN PRAYERS.
Eulogy in Honor of Dr. Mebude

As we grief the untimely departure of our very own, Dr. Mebude, I cannot but pause to reflect on the life of an intellectual giant who, through his nobility, transformed the lives so many… including mine!
Peter was a consummate gentleman who loved life, perfected life, beautified all things in life, and exemplified uncommon attributes that we should all emulate.

His intellectual gifts notwithstanding, he was humble to the core; willingly and selflessly shared his talents; and remained cheerful through turbulent moments. Peter was a dedicated foot soldier who devoutly embraced his calling and stayed anchored to Christ to the very end.

To his wife, Tinu, and his entire family left behind, I charge you all to be brave and remain comforted, knowing that the embers of love and legacy enkindled by your hero—our collective hero—will forever shine on!

My Dear Friend and Brother, Rotimi,
As legacies inspired by you blossom into fruition, we cannot but remember you,
As we journey through life and defy its struggles and challenges, we cannot but remember you,
At JOGS collective anniversaries, we cannot but remember you,
Your memory will forever live on in our hearts!!

It is with heavy heart that we received the news of Rotimi's passing. My wife and I shared several moments with Rotimi and Tinu as we all cheered our daughters, kicking butts on the Track and Field across the province. Our sincere condolences to Tinu and the children. We wish you all God's grace, mercy and guidance through this difficult period. May his soul rest in perfect peace!

*Reminiscences of Rotimi Mebude*
To the glory of God Almighty, throughout our stay in the boarding house in Ijebu ode grammar school, I never see or hear Rotimi Mebude had disagreement with anyone or tell someone that, I am not in friendship with you anymore. He was so much loved and he loved people too. When I told Dr Lateef Lawal, our senior about his demise, he cried out on phone! That's the shock!
However, Rotimi Mebude was a unique character, a very peaceful man, very accommodating,..he has the qualities, and above all, he knew his God Almighty very well, he reverence Him highly and got attached to God Almighty our most High.
In fact, Rotimi Mebude can't be forgotten easily. In Kuti house, he was so unique and inspired us all. He established serious bonding with people and never ostracized himself.
To God Almighty be the glory that , COG ROTIMI MEBUDE BELONGED TO OUR 7378 SET.

I met Rotimi at Unilag. I call him Rotor after we were taught Rotor and Stator in Physics and we were also hall mates at Mariere Hall in our Prelim days.
We continued our friendship throughout our undergraduate days. I Know their house near the Catholic church and we used to go to a lot of places together. I visited him when he was working at Ikeja and then he traveled.
I reconnected with him in 2020/21 and we picked it up from there even though long distance.
Rotor was very brilliant and open minded. His brain power is very sharp and he loves challenges.
I am pained by the news of his death. I know he is resting in the Lord I pray that the holy spirit will comfort the family he left behind.

My wife and I are saddened beyond description by the news of your homegoing.

We are however consoled that, as a child of God and follower of Christ that you were, you have only transitioned into eternity to be reconciled with your creator.

Premised on this assurance, we remain confident that this is a goodnight and not a goodbye.

We are confident in our hope to see you on resurrection day at the feet of our Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

May the good Lord comfort and console your wife, children, and the larger Medude family.

Not only have you have finished your race on planet earth, you have finished with honor.

Your legacy and good deeds shall remain tales to be told and retold across several generations.

Rest in peace my beloved brother and friend.
Dr. Mebude, it is with heavy hearts and sadness that we heard about your sudden death. My family and I have known you as a reliable brother and friend since we met you. You are a respected scholar, Christian, and rare gem who radiate love, fun, and friendship to those who knew you. The moments we shared still lingers in our memory. It was never a dull moment being around you and your loving family. We will forever cherish our discussions, especially on global events and your love for oldies music like ‘ketekete’ by the music maestro Ebenezer Obey. Our thoughts and prayers to your wife and children. We will miss you. Rest in peace!
Rest well Dr Rotimi Mebude.! You were a great mentor and a motivator who always wished good things for his fellow human beings. I remember in 2006 when you and your loving wife came to our life. You enlightened us about benefits of real estate investment after sharing the word of God together with us, the rest is now history. You also allowed your son to travel with my family to Portland Oregon for the Apostolic Faith annual convention. I still remember our time of playing ping pong together at the Nigeria house Calgary where we always enjoyed your funny entertainment and boasting to beat the best players like baba Shinor & Tano whom we all knew you couldn’t beat. Yeah, you were very versatile and knowledgeable almost in any field of life. Yes, there was no boredom wherever you were as you always ignited the milieu with laughter, smiles and fun. I didn’t know last February at PLC would be the last time I would see you. You will surely be missed brother... But thank God for the short but fruitful life you lived. May your soul Rest In Peace ! May God give your family the fortitude to beat the loss! Good night bro!
In response to "How did you first meet COG Peter Meb?"
Dr Peter Mebude, we are very saddened about your early departure from this earth.
We got to know you as a very humble and generous person throughout the years of our friendship. Your readiness to engage in down to earth discussion on issues, and your love for Church Hymns will be greatly missed.
We pray the Lord will strengthen and comfort the entire family at this time.
May your memory and legacy live on.
Rest in the bosom of God Almighty, our brother!
Shocking.....still in shock. I always enjoyed the multiple occasions both of us, -through the years- discussed a wide variety of topics....your knowledge, perspectives and rich insights were highly impressive. I felt a sense of loss when your wife told me about your health, we joined her and everyone praying for you...and out of nowhere, came the sad part- the earth's loss become heaven's gain. We all continue to pray for the immediate and extended family members, in Jesus name.

Kike and I were saddened by the passing away of Rotimi. Our prayers and thoughts are with Tinu and the rest of the family. We first met in 1996 in Edinburgh and have remain family friends since. It was a great reunion in 2018 during Rotimi and Tinu’s visit to the UK . Unfortunately Covid-19 prevented us from paying reciprocal visit in May 2020. While we are grieving we also have hope that death is not the end but the beginning of the journey into eternity. Rest in Peace Rotimi
It is with a heavy heart that I write this tribute to dear friend. Rotimi and I were course mates during our University days. We became very good friends over the years. A caring, loyal and very helpful friend. You will be missed. May God comfort your wife, children and the whole family...Amin. May God grant them the patience and fortitude to bear the loss...Amin.

May his soul rest in peace at the bossom of the Lord and may He comfort the wife Tinuade, the children, grandchildren and the entire family
We received the news of the passing of this wonderful soul; a beloved friend, a wonderful husband and a dutiful father, with deep sadness, pain and missed emotions. As much as we desired that Peter Olurotimi Mebude continue to be with us, we not happy to have him continue to go through the pains and suffering occasioned by the long battle to live. We are therefore thankful to the almighty father, the creator of heaven and earth for the life He permitted Rotimi to live. We are consoled by that fact that he was a born again child of God and now his soul would be resting peacefully with the Lord.

Peter Mebude was not just a friend, he was a business partner and my official realtor and first call for all housing or rental advice I might require. I and my wife will miss him greatly.

As a member of the board of Strongtower Limited, Rotimi contributed to the development of the company and was selfless in offering services to the business venture in his areas of competence pro Bono.

Rotimi displayed exceptional love for his wife and children; in fact he and his wife always go hand in hand on any outing, a behavior that stood the Mebude’s out. We know that sister Bola will be going through a lot by now, knowing she did all she could as a loving and caring wife. For this, our condolences go to her and the entire family members and friends. Our prayers are with her and trust that the Lord will comfort and stand with her and all bereaved who mourn the loss. Particularly, we hope you feel the warmth of the love shared with your departed husband and feel surrounded by feeling of his resurrection at the second coming of our Lord. May the Lord comfort you and give you inner peace!

For Rotimi, the pain and agony has ended. You are gone from our sight, but definitely not from our hearts. As you sleep, we are sure you wouldn’t be hearing news of continued lockdown due to COVID-19 in Canada, and all the bad news coming from Nigeria anymore. May your gentle soul rest In perfect peace 🙏
Dear Rote, your sudden departure is still a great shock to us, we give GOD all the GLORY for your service to HIM and Humanity.

Your support to me during my service years as the President of JOGS 7378 SET will never be forgotten as you are one of the backbone for the great success achieved.

As you go back to your creator, may HE grant you the good rest you deserved In JESUS CHRIST MIGHTY NAME (AMEN).

Adieu COG Rotimi.
