Neil touched a lot of lives! He was my RT instructor 91-93 and I’ll never forget his kind heart! He was an amazing man and teacher! He made everyone feel valued. I remember when I first met him at Saint Anthony’s and saw how he treated his patients. He definitely changed a lot of lives

Texas Society for Respiratory Care - TSRC
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Neil Allen on May 2, 2025. Neil was a cherished leader, mentor, educator, and friend within the Texas respiratory care community. He served as TSRC President in 1997 and remained a dedicated advocate for our field throughout his life.
Neil’s legacy includes decades of service as an associate professor in the Respiratory Care program at Amarillo College and as a founding board member of the Respiratory Care Foundation of Texas. He brought warmth, wisdom, and humor to every room, every classroom, and every meeting. Many of us were lucky to learn from him—not just about respiratory care, but about kindness, leadership, and life.
He will be dearly missed, and his impact will never be forgotten.

Honored to have been Neil's student, then an RT colleague at the hospital, and finally mentored by him at Amarillo College to follow in his footsteps. I only hope I can touch lives like you did, and still do. Neil Allen was one in a million!

❤️ it is so very painful to hear of Neil's passing. As many have mentioned, he was a remarkably kind, caring, generous, loving man and one who I consider a long time, dear loving FRIEND!!!
I worked with him in the TSRC for the biggest part of 4 decades. The profession and the society are both so very, very well off as a result of Neil's commitments and contributions.
I shall always remember sitting at the end of the day's activities and sharing some beers, some jokes, and some family stories, with a bit of sadness and a great deal of happiness that I was able to share them and call Neil "FRIEND...!!!"
Oh merciful and gracious Heavenly Father please welcome your good and faithful servant, Neil Allen, into your presence and comfort his family and loved ones 🙏... AMEN 🙏

He was always an absolute joy to work with. We shared a love of strong unsweet tea and often treated each other to one if we knew we were working together. Sending you and your family peace and comfort at this time.

Neil and I were best friends in grade school at Southlawn in Amarillo. In the 6th grade we were in the play Night Before Christmas. Neil playing Santa Clause and me playing the mouse. Neil was supposed to come down the chimney and trip over me as I slept which he did. He also turned and kicked me, he really kicked me. So instead of leaving the scene as I was supposed to do, I stayed on stage digging into Santa’s bag and even taking the opportunity to bite him on the ankle. Our teacher thought these improvs were great and we were told to keep them in our presentation for the parents. Neil’s family had a homemade movie of the play and a few still photos of which I have one. Neil and I remained friends and continued to stay in touch throughout the years. You are missed my friend and may God comfort your family during this difficult time. Jim
