For over 20 years, 100's of sets, parties, dinners, and van rides, I have come to love Mike.  We shared an inside,  personal greeting, said without fail or exception, every single time. At first sight we'd say, "Top of the morning" and upon parting, "Always a pleasure".  virbatim.  Complete with warm handshake and smile.  So ingrained, we anticipated this seemingly silly but loving ritual.  I will never forget this for as long as I live.

Mike,

Thanks for always taking the time to listen and teach me new things! I loved talking to you about planes on set and all things grip as I navigated the production industry. Your presence and expertise will be greatly missed !

I think most people, if not all, that worked with Mike, would say that if they saw his name on the callsheet, all would be well. Mike would be there. Problems would be solved. Jokes would be made. The day would be better.

I will always remember a particular crappy shoot outdoors when he put a flag up to keep me out of the sun without being asked.

Boy, will I miss his name on a callsheet.
