I first got to know Mel shortly after Ned started working with me. I was lucky enough to be invited to their romantic wedding and remember seeing them very happy together. Later Mel stepped in to help working in our GP Practice developing project plans as well as backing up our management team when we were short. She was clever, kind and efficient and helped drive projects through with aplomb! Mel was always great fun to be around socially but most of all I will always think of her with enormous admiration for her promotion of girls and women through Guiding all around the world. What an amazing person who achieved so much in her time in the world.

We are so sad to hear of her passing. As we're sure others will say, she was such a vibrant and happy person and we know this is how she will always be remembered.

An amazing person who gave so much to so many in all spheres of her life and particularly in Girlguiding locally, nationally and internationally. We will miss you Mel.

I will miss an inspirational friend who sent me an encouraging email a few weeks before she died. How typical of Mel to be motivating folk,  by her example of thinking of others before herself, to her very last moments.

I send my condolences to the whole family.

I still cannot thank you enough for this beautiful video you made for us Ferg. It captures all the great memories of our wedding. It was such a special day surrounded by everyone we love and hold dear. The day ran so smoothly - a testament to Mel's meticulous planning and superstar organisational skills.

I still think insisting we arranged a bus to take guests to and from the church and having us hail it after we'd driven off in the wedding car was the best contribution I had to the day's shenanigans. While we waited for about ten minutes or so at the bus stop sniggering about our plan to hail the bus down in our wedding get-up three white vans stopped on separate occasions - each one wound the window down and said words to the effect of "oi oi - need a lift there honey?" then looking to me "sorry mate, only got space for one!". They also played the Prince of Denmark March at the Coop and one of the shop assistants ran out saying "They're playing your song!".

It was such a wonderful day and when Arthur our vicar said as we walked out of the church after the service "Sorry Ned, when I said you never really grew up I wasn't talking about your height..." doubling the slight made in his address that made me smile even more.

The fireworks at the end were so very befitting of Mel - she was such a bright sparkle in the world bringing so much joy to it, but far too shortlived.

Rest in Peace my beautiful Mel I will always love you and cherish the precious memories we have forged together as a family.
