Maureen, dmore as I used to call her when she was alive was an epitome of the virtuous woman typified in Proverbs 31. She was an eternal optimistic; forever seeing the good in people & situation no matter what. Maureen was a hardworking, compassionate, dogged & diligent woman. She can give her last penny to someone in need disregarding her own needs. Maureen was large hearted and tolerant. I will miss her calling me enibabe! May Almighty God grant her eternal rest in Jesus Mighty name. 🙏

There is a time for everything: a time to be born and a time to die. This well-known Bible passage did not make the shock and sadness of the passing of a cherished friend, Maureen any less.

Maureen was my junior at Queens School Enugu. We met years after at Century Merchant Bank where we worked together and became closer. Maureen had a nickname at the Bank, ‘Namibia’, because she effectively managed Namibia Social Fund.

Mau-Mau, you were a beautiful lady inside and out. You were not only caring and gentle but loving and authentic with people, saying what needed to be said in the interest of everyone. You were so pleasant that you always saw the good in your friends. Your smile can light up a room. As I think of you, Colossians 3:12 comes to mind, “… as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience”. You were an embodiment of these virtues.

During your last weeks, you believed that you could "pass through raging waters in the sea and not drown" because God was with you. You had an unshakable faith and believed that God would come through for you. Well, He did. He chose you to relocate to a better place and be free from pain and the turmoil of this world.

I celebrate your life and the legacy you have left. I give God all the glory for a life well lived. Your good memories will forever be remembered.

Rest in peace dear Mau-Mau, till we meet to part no more.

Uzor Anyaegbuna Monu
Mau Mau,
I still have no words to describe the shock of your demise. My last conversation with you was filled with your usual cheer and goodwill, with no hint of malaise. Your kind, affable personality made you a great friend. You were more than a classmate and will be greatly missed. Rest in the Lord, in whose sight you're precious.

Mau de Mau, the news of your demise hit me like a thunderbolt. I've tried to make sense of it all, but in vain.
I've resigned to the belief that God calls home His best, yes His best.
You were different, so so different.
I can't remember ever seeing you angry, or have I heard you raise your voice, or seen you without a smile?
I've heard about your battle, it bleeds my heart that I did not get the chance to say a word of prayers 😪
God knows best.
You have now recieved your crown of glory.
Rest well my dear Mau de Mau.
Rest well.

Only God knows why you should leave us at this time. We do not understand but we know that in the short time you lived you touched many many lives through your love, encouragement and care. God will not forget all your labor of love. I am glad that you know Him and that you are with Him now. We will aspire to meet you there in heaven. Enjoy the host of angels as you all worship God. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints (Psalm 116:15). Rest in the bosom of your Heavenly Father.

Mau Mau, you were a one of a kind woman. You were one of the most kind hearted people I have ever met, you were free with your joy and did your best to ensure everyone around you was taken care of. Your death comes as a massive shock to me and my heart weeps for your family who have to carry on without you with them physically, though I know you'd be watching over them from heaven. I pray your family finds the strength, peace and will to carry on living. May your soul rest in peace.
Mau Mau as she was fondly called came to spend 1 week with us after we relocated from Real Estate, Uwani, Enugu to GRA, Enugu.
We used play on top of a flower plant in front of our house with our other numerous friends. These were very fond memories that I have of my dear friend Maureen whom the lord has called to be with him. May her sweet and gentle soul rest in the bosom of the lord.
Beautiful, intelligent, humble you were. Your lovely smile, calm and peaceful nature were evident. I thank God for knowing you and I pray that God will continue to comfort, strengthen and protect your husband and wonderful children. Although you are asleep but you are alive in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ who you love - this gives me great comfort. Jane Nwanji
Maureen, I can still see your lovely smile and hear your gentle voice when I think of you. It is hard to believe you are gone. It is consoling to know that you are in a better place. Like the Bible enjoins us, I will not mourn your departure from this realm like one who has no hope because I will see you again. We shall meet at the feet of the Master and until then, sleep well my friend. Jumoke Akinbobola
Kind. Selfless. Caring. These are the words I’ll think of when I remember you.

You always seemed to care. That was your way. When you were healthy and even in the depth of illness. You always seemed more concerned about everyone else.

You were kind. Always. Thank you for everything.
Oge, I will always remember your gentleness , paitence and kindness. You epitomised 1 Peter 3;4. You had the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. I will miss you greatly and will never forget you.
Dearest Oge,
As you left the shores of Nigeria, little did I know that my seeing you at my Mum's funeral at Awka wayback in 2018 was the last I would see you. Your warmth and kindness was so endearing to all. Beautiful inside and out, yet so unassuming. I truly cannot find the words to express the deep sense of loss that I feel over your demise. You shall be sorely missed, Oge. We love you, but l believe God loves you best. Adieu, dear Oge, until we meet again at heaven's gate.

Some things may be hard to understand but the Word of God says that “His thoughts are not our thoughts, Nor are our ways His ways”. And so we surrender to Him. May you continue to rest in peace, Oge, till we meet at Jesus’s feet.

“Beyond the sunset, O glad reunion, With our dear loved ones Who've gone before; In that fair homeland We'll know no parting, Beyond the sunset
For evermore!”
Maureen ... my sake! You were so positive the last time I saw you in Houston. God knows best and you are resting now! Go well sis! You will be missed
Continue to rest in peace and rise in glory with the saints, dear Oge.
Dear Mau, you lived a very good live, though you left too soon, but you will forever be remembered by the great legacy you left behind. Loosing you was so much pain but God has the final say. Sleep on dear Mau, may your gentle soul continue to rest in peace amen
There will be no more pain over there. You are loved and will be greatly missed. Love you loads, Ngozi Scott
These things are never easy to write. I am at a loss for words during this sorrowful time. Gechii, you were well loved. You had great character, a big heart and you will be sorely missed by everyone. There are special people in our lives who never leave us. Gechii, you are one of them and you will be in my heart and fond memories forever. I’m still very deeply saddened, but I take solace in the fact that there is no hurting, no suffering, and no pain in Heaven. Rest gently in God’s Arms my darling sister from another mother.
