We met Kathy through Vince, who is an old friend. We first met her at Amber India Restaurant in San Francisco. We formed a deep bond right there and then. She is one of the smartest and funniest women we know, and we loved to talk about fashion, food, and more importantly, the trials and tribulations of life. Once Kathy was your friend, you saw the side of her that was so fiercely loyal, fiercely protective, fiercely motherly and fiercely feminist. She blessed us with love and good wishes while we knew her, and we know she continues to do so now. Kathy is a shining star, now and always.

My condolences to Kathy's family. Kathy and I always considered ourselves so dang blessed and lucky to have been friends for 58 years. Not many can boast such an accomplishment and we always did our best to stay in touch over the years through the many moves we both made (she more than me!). I first met Kathy in 3rd grade at St. Francis de Sales school. I always was intrigued by Kathy's quirky personality. She was much more outspoken than I ever was and I admired that strong quality in her. She always told it like it was - no BS - such an honest soul who always had great advice. We stayed friends through high school and then went to different nursing schools in Ohio but still got together from time to time. Then we both got married and started having our own families. We still stayed in touch even though she lived in a few different states over the years. It was a hoot that we both ended up in California! Now, we had a chance to get together in person again and it was such fun to see our kids grow up together! I can't begin or even be able to count all of the wonderful memories we shared. She was a kindred soul and has and will continue to be a great part of my life. I will be forever grateful for that. My kids Cory and Kelly will always love this chick. We were so sad to hear she had passed but knew she fought and fought to conquer her cancer. She was truly an amazing warrior. She also turned out to be a GREAT mother, sister, daughter, friend, nurse, and attorney! She had a full life and that is how we should all be remembered by. My sincere condolences to Lauren, Danny, and Marc & family. I feel so blessed to be a part of your family for all of these years. Love and hugs to all. Paddy xo
