The Ward Family is shocked and very sad. Pat always vouched for me in this community, career wise, and he always was so easy to say hi to and chat with when he was working at his restaurants. He was always so very friendly and just a warm smile & hug. He & I had plans in the works to get together. I’m very sad that didn’t get to happen. Rest in paradise, Pat. You won’t be forgotten.
Pat was a kind, generous and deeply caring human with the biggest smile. Downtown Tacoma is a better place because of Pat. What a loss for all of us. I will miss him.
RIP, Pat. You were a hero for Tacoma, serving so many and in so many creative ways! Your joy for life exuded out of every pore. Bless you and thank you for being you, a vibrant and unique gift to us all.

Godspeed, Pat.

You were a true gentleman and friend. You will truly be missed. The world is a little bit darker.😢

I am so sorry for your loss (Nagle family and all). At Wazzu, wasn't it Pat who loved cold pizza so Laure you ordered one the night before his birthday and put it in the fridge to deliver to him the next day? I remember it was hard for us roommates to keep our hands off it. :)

This is sad news!  Pat was “the” Tacoma cheerleader for many years!  He was committed to our work at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and I will forever be grateful for his support and friendship!  Rest in peace, my friend and may God bless you and your family.
I am absolutely devastated to hear about Pat's passing. He was such a wonderful person and personality. My heartfelt condolences to his family.
I will always have great memories of Pat.  His positive and welcoming attitude always made running into him a treat.   His generosity will be missed.   I plan on lifting a glass to Pat!

Gonna miss you brother. Thank you for the many, many years of friendship through Jr high and high school. And even before that during our peewee days. You always had a way of rising to the top so I will see you at the top when I get there. God bless you Pat.

Pat and I shared a love of the poet, Mary Oliver. Here is one of his favorite poems, "Wild Geese."

"You do not have to be good.

You do not have to walk on your knees

for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.

You only have to let the soft animal of your body

love what it loves.

Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.

Meanwhile the world goes on.

Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain

are moving across the landscapes,

over the prairies and the deep trees,

the mountains and the rivers.

Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,

are heading home again.

Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,

the world offers itself to your imagination,

calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting -

over and over announcing your place

in the family of things"
