💔 We miss you, Dad.

I feel so grateful to have had a father who was so in love with my mom, so supportive, so loving… I have so much anger that you’re gone too soon, and so much sadness for all the things you’ll miss. But we will carry you with us in every good deed, every trip, every new happy memory. I love you ❤️

My condolences to Joanne and the family. I looked forward to any time that I got to work with John - beyond all of his professional skill, John was simply one of the best people to work with. In all of my years of interactions with him, I never (and I mean that in its most literal sense) saw him with anything other than a positive attitude, no matter how stressful the immediate circumstances might have been. His calm reassurances helped quell stresses over whatever it was that appeared to be going wrong - and while it was part of his job to identify such problems, he always did it as a member of the team, and always in a supportive rather than adversarial way.   John's presence amongst us was treasured, and I am greatly saddened by his too-soon departure from us.
Joanne, I didn't have the pleasure of knowing John, but I suspect he was as amazing a human being as you are. My sincere and deepest condolences to you and your family.

Some may come and some may go,

He will surely pass.

When the one that left us here,

Returns for us at last.

We are but a moment's sunlight,

Fading in the grass.

Come on, people now -

Smile on my Brother

Everybody get together

Try to love one another right now.

I am sad to hear about losing the great John Kennedy and although I am sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye, I am sure John sees everybody’s loving thoughts.   John was a great colleague and friend.  He was beyond kind, patient, big-hearted, thoughtful, and passionate.   I am going to miss seeing Mr. Kennedy around town and JPL and discussing either lab antics or cars…   it was an honor and pleasure working with John, his positive mentorship, leading and coaching will forever be deep-seated in all who had the pleasure of making his acquaintance…
I am very sorry to hear about the loss of John. He was a great colleague and friend--liked and respected by everyone he came into contact with at JPL. I got to know him early in my career and came to think of him as a gold standard for a rational, reasonable, and dedicated QA. But he was equally honorable as a man outside the cleanroom. May his memory be a blessing.
Joanne, So sorry for your loss. It was a true pleasure knowing John and working with him over the years. He was highly competent, pleasant, and a true joy to work along side.

My thoughts and prayers are with John's family. He was a great worker, enthusiastic about space and very motivated to always do the right thing. He will be missed,
Joanne and family - I am so very sorry for your - and our - loss!  John was a wonderful QA guy and I considered him a good friend.  We worked together often and shared the same 'tilted' sense of humor.  He was most helpful on the many Mars missions that I worked on and helped resolve some tough issues - to the project's great satisfaction.  He will be sorely missed!  May the LORD, Jesus Christ, grant you strength, peace and His comfort!
Very sorry for your loss Joanne, I'm sure he will be missed.
For Joanne and the family, you have a large JPL family ready to be there for you!  Our deepest condolences
I very much appreciated John's attention to details wrt the OCO-2 program.  And then there was his dry wit!  John will certainly be missed.
John was funny, kind, and a great mentor to me as I took on my first big hardware job on OCO-2.   I really learned the value of good Quality Assurance (QA) support!  My favorite memory was when we took a trip to Maryland to visit a vendor and inspect our flight hardware for shipment.  John was diligent and thorough as always, holding the vendor to our specifications and didn't sign off on the shipment until he was satisfied.  Then, after a good day's work, John suggested our team take a short boat ride along the shore and enjoy the remaining daylight.  I was tired, but I just couldn't say no to his enthusiasm.  We ended up having so much fun and it was like the stress of the job just melted away.  John always knew how to find that balance and was such a positive influence on all of us.  John wasn't just a colleague, he was a true friend.  He will be deeply missed.
My Condolences to Joanne, the girls and the rest of the family. I worked with John for 30+ years. He was a great man and has left an amazing legacy at JPL. He was a good friend and always had a kind, caring and encouraging word for me. He told great stories and really loved working at JPL and with us, his team. He will be sadly missed.
