Dear Tim, Debbie, and Dave,

Your parents truly were two of the finest people we have ever known, so loving and kind. We’re so very sorry for your tremendous loss. We are mourning with you and keeping you and your families in our prayers.

The Marshall family was special  to me my High School years were made memorable and special  because of Rev Marshall and his love for the Lord and Music. We did things that most Youth groups could never imagine!!!  My life will forever be changed  because of Rev Marshall. TIM DEBBIE DAVID and family ,my heartfelt ♥️ prayers and love go out to you during this time of sorrow, and the Joy of their love for eachother and the Lord be your  comfort ❤️

Love Melanie

What special people my grandm…
What special people my grandma & grandpa were. We love you and miss you both but are happy that you’ve been reunited in heaven 🕊️🤍

Jim and Marilyn were so special to me.  I can’t begin to share many memories that will live on as long as I live.  From leading my daughter to the Lord at a young age, to counseling me during rough times, to visiting us in Jacksonville and sharing to lights of St Augustine with them.  Many fond memories of picnics and pool parties and Uno games!  Our love and prayers to the family !  How hard to loose both parents at once!

With Love,   Shelley and NC Sizemore

Pastor Jim and Marilyn are the most godly couple I have ever known. I will miss them but rejoice that we KNOW they are with Jesus. I will always treasure the time we spent together doing the Christmas and Easter musicals together.

Debbie I am so so sorry to hear about your dad. Your dad as you know was an amazing Godly man. I appreciate what he has done and my walk w the Lord.

Hug your mom for me and prayers to all of you.

It is neat to see all the texted messages on Facebook from different people and reading how they knew your dad and what has done for them personally.

Thanks for texting my mom.

Dear Marilyn,

I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. To me, he was such an amazing man full of energy, talent, love of God, you, his community, music and people. He had a great sense of humor; I can still hear his laughter. As a teenager and a member of The Ambassadors for Christ at Arlington Memorial Baptist Church, Jim, our musical director, shared his passion and love of God through music and was a shining example for me of how to live a good life. I am forever grateful for his friendship, leadership and guidance. Thank you Jim!

It is impossible to adequately express the impact that Pastor Jim and his family had in my life. I have such amazing memories of being under his direction as a teenager involved in the youth choir and the many Christmas musicals and the living Christmas tree. Traveling with the teen singing group was life changing as we ministered to people from all walks of life. From singing in different churches to sharing Christ through song on the beach boardwalks in New Jersey.

In addition, Pastor Jim had such a special place in our hearts. I cherish those many amazing piano duets that he played with my mom, Judy Toth. His ministry to others through music has touched many lives. But his life and his testimony was a true example of the love of Christ.  While those that remain here mourn this great loss, the angels are rejoicing.  Pastor Jim is now singing and worshipping our Lord Jesus with the biggest choir ever!

My Christian life was birthed and founded under the leadership of JP Marshall. I owe a debt of gratitude to Jim and his family for countless hours of ministry.
The most cherished memory for me is his gift of friendship coupled with frequent laughter.
Many thanks to Marilyn and family to share Jim as he invested in others so beautifully and effectively for eternity.
Jim's music ministry at Camp Bethel (in Haddam, CT) will bring back cherished memories from a generation of "campers".

What great memories our family has of the Marshalls.  Jim was my children's choir director, youth choir director, and adult choir director.  He was a great leader and friend to so many.  What an impact he made on all of us at Arlington.  We still tell tour stories and have a love for Jesus and music.  Words cannot express what Jim has meant to so many.  Until we meet again!  Prayers and hugs to the family.

I spent a couple of hours on my bicycle here in N Texas remembering how Jim influenced my life. There are just so many! I grew up at Arlington in the 60s and early 70s. I was involved in youth programs, youth choirs, Ambassadors, many youth retreats, and adult choir. Jim led all of these and through these programs and songs, I was taught the basic principles that became the foundation of my life. So many times, Jim was the hand and feet of Christ for me. At one time, I faced some of the darkest days of my life. Jim stood by me and held me up. Reminding me constantly that God was near and loved me. Jim was instrumental in providing me an opportunity to move overseas and work with his brother Jack. The experience was significant and change forever my world view and the vastness of our God. Jim will be missed dearly by his family, and I pray for God’s comfort. We will miss him too, but Jim has finished the race strongly. Many have come to know our Savoir because of the life Jim lived. Well done, James Philip Marshall. Well done!!!
Rev Marshall had a deep faith and modeled the Christian life for us all. At Arlington, he tirelessly gave of his talents. He taught me to love singing and how to live in faith.. It was an honor to know Jim Marshall as it is rare when one person has such a positive impact to so many people. My prayers go out to the Marshall family. The heavens are rejoicing for this good and faithful servant.

Though Carole and I have not seen Jim and  Marilyn  since they left Ohio, other than one time in New England, our love and respect has never waned.

I was asked to sing in the men's ensemble, The Kings men and looked forward to practices in Jim's office. It is amazing that one Man can have such a great influence on another.

Can you just imagine how high Jim's eyebrows are right now, as he is having an eye to eye encounter with the saviour of the world. We housed Tim in California when he sang in a near by church some 30 yrs ago.

Marilyn our love wraps around you and your family.  Jim thank you for your life in Christ.  Gary and Carole Matthews

Under Jim's leadership, I grew up in the youth program, youth choir, and into the adult choir.  I later worked with Jim on the youth choir sound system and we developed a very close relationship.  Saying he will be missed doesn't come close to the loss that will felt by all who knew him.  We've lost him for now, but God has gained a dedicated man and choir director.   Waiting until we can see him again.
So sorry to lose the many contributions Pastor Jim brought to the people of Black Rock Church. I always enjoyed his faithfulness in serving and great spirit, always smiling and optimistic no matter what’s happening. I admired his commitment to be there, sharing his musical gifts as an organist, his love for people, warmth, and openness to help others. I always enjoyed talking to him and when we left to go and move South, he gave us a goodbye lunch! I am sure he is there now up in heaven making a joyful sound on the King of Instruments! Well done, good and faithful servant!! In loving memory from Jane Asprelli (Murfreesboro, TN)
I am so sorry to hear of Reverend Marshall’s passing…that’s what we called him when he was at Arlington Memorial Baptist Church. He was our youth choir director, father of my good friend Timmy and a big influence in my spiritual life as a teen. I will always remember him as a man who loved Jesus and wanted everyone to know Him! He is now safe in the arms of Jesus. Praying for Mrs. Marshall, Tim, Debbie and David! Love to you all!
