Jim and I met at a graduation party when we were about 18 years old. There was a piano at that house, and we both found ourselves playing ragtime music together. If you remember back in the 70s, that was when the movie "The Entertainer" came out. It was that movie that had inspired both of us to start learning to play ragtime. We both played many ragtime tunes and this one, The Maple Leaf Rag was one of our favorites.
It took Jim two years to master this beautiful piano piece. He often played it for me and played it every bit as beautifully. It's called "Un Sospiro" by Franz List. We had so many fun and lovely times playing the piano together. He truly was my soul-mate and I am so grateful for the 42+ plus years we had together. (He also played many other pieces on the piano, as I did too, but I won't mention them all. We sure loved our Steinway piano which we purchased as our 20th anniversary gift.)
I’m so sorry for your loss. Jim was a wonderful person and he was a joy to work with and become friends with over the many years we worked together. I always enjoyed his wisdom as well as his wit. He will be greatly missed.
Barb and Anika, David and I are praying that the loving arms of Jesus will hold you both tight as you grieve the loss of Jim. We enjoyed all of the times we had with him. The fun conversations, laughs and encouragement will forever be cherished memories for us. Love you both very much!
I grew up with Jim in the Tacony neighborhood of philly… we were in Boy Scouts together with troop 24. Jim was an all-around nice guy. He was such a part of our family my mother even gave him chores to do (lol).
Our sincerest condolences to his family and friend! But we have the joy of knowing we’ll see him again!!!
