Barb & Koob family, I'm so sorry for your loss! Jimmy was my brother's friend growing up in same neighborhood, I'll always remember how nice he was, he stood out as a special & kindhearted guy even then
I had the luck to work with Jim multiple times spread over many years, even while we were only once members of the same department. Sometimes we did not meet at all for months, but that did not matter: whenever I had whatever question: Getting back to Jim and asking for his grounded advice felt like calling a good friend and I hope it was the same the other way round. Jim was a natural born leader with the super-power to let others participate from his knowledge and experience which is a rare combination. I will miss him a lot, and I know that there are more colleagues in Bayer than you can imagine feeling the same.My deepest condolences Barbara and Anika.Rest in peace Jim.

James and I were science majors at Marist. Jim, Walter and I (roommates and crew jocks)  were the first people to request and receive permission to do the Science of Man program at Marist in our second and fourth years. Jim and I were good runners and would often go on runs in addition to the crew workouts (just because). Jim and I also worked together at Engelhard Industries together after we graduated. He was a great friend and roommate. Barb and Jim and many of our friends went to the Culinary Institute of America in 1979 to celebrate at the Ecoffier room and also Gasho in Hawthorne NY.  Jim and Barb and our other college friends had  many adventures a school...

I am sad to hear that Jim passed away.  My sincere condolences to the Koob family and I will keep your family in my prayers.  Jim and I were teammates for the Father Judge high school crew team.  I have many great memories of Jim as we competed in many races on the Schuylkill river.

My deepest condolences  Barbara and Anika. I wish I was there to give you a hug. I will miss Jim, who was a vital part of our Bayer IT family. I was fortunate enough to run into him back in June at the Whippany, NJ site just by chance. I was really happy to finally see him in person again and shaking his hand and seeing his big smile made my day. The first time I met Jim was when he worked within the Crop Science division architecting complex data structures and turning them into amazing insights for everyone.  He had a gift for understanding technology, data, life and the world in general. Innovative, insightful, kind, wise, a true friend, humorous and intelligent are qualities that I will remember about Jim. His  contributions at Bayer will continue to be around for our benefit, so he is immortal in that way.  He often spoke fondly of both of you and his dogs, which barked often on our calls :-).  My only regret is I did not have an opportunity to go to his favorite little Chinese restaurant in his town and enjoy the dumplings with him. I will truly miss you Jim and unfortunately will not be there to bid you farewell.  Much love from your Can-American friend and colleague from afar.  Dave Shum, Berkeley, CA / Toronto, Canada

I am shocked to hear Jim passed away. I always loved to discuss with him about anything, from gastronomy to technology. I had the chance to meet Jim for a project and we remained in contact. I really loved his sense of humour, intelligence and his polite way to criticize the decisions that were made in our company. He was always very kim and curious about anything and anyone.

I will really miss you Jim.

My deepest condoleances to Barbara and Anika. I know for sure he loved you very much as he was always talking about you and will watch you from there.

Our memories of Jim, hardworking both on & off the water.  In the classroom & on campus, Jim was mature beyond his years, because Jim knew his priorities, he was there to study hard, get great grades, and never missing a practice.  We knew Jim would be successful no matter what he set his mind too,  because he was so darn focused.

Our deepest condolences to his family & friends .. we missed you at the recent reunion, and we're still in shock by the sad news of your recent passing. RIP ..

I am so very sorry for you loss. There are still no words. Although it's such a big world, it's a small world. I happen to be in the same Notre Dame Executive class as Jim in 2009. Who would have thought, I would still be working with Jim in 2022. <3 He was such a unique and special person. He had so much knowledge about so many topics, and loved to just talk to people. He was kind and had a huge heart. He was thoughtful and always willing to help others. He has left a hole in our organization, that cannot be filled, and will be greatly missed <3
