My deepest sympathies to the family. James and I connected through the creation of the maple bacon Kronut. My family and I would visit the bakery every weekend for our favorite sweet concoctions. However, it was  his love of cars that continued a connection outside of the bakery. We both owned a Mercedes R350 vehicles and often compared maintenance and performance notes at stop lights in Raytown.  My prayers extend to you all.

Sorry to hear Chef James passed. He was the coolest of cool.
Sorry to hear  of James  passing.  I worked at the Westin for 15 years.  He was one of the first Afro American  Chef I had ever met at the time . A  true Professional  and Gentleman. My Mother said his Bread Pudding was the best she ever had. He also made my  Son's  Bitrhyday Cake . I know his proudest achievement  was being a Father. My deepest  sympathy   to his Family  and Love ones. I hadn't  seen James in many years. But his loss still touch me so. That's   a testament  to kinda  if person he was.  My he  Rest  In Peace.

I meet James at the Westin Crown Center Hotel initially, we continued to be friends through out the remainder of his life.  James was a treasure, he is in so many of my memories,  He made the wedding cake and chocolate gift boxes when Eddie Adel and I married.  He was a constant in our life, most recently he brought his sweet granddaughter Blayde to our son Jack’s high school graduation party…he was so happy just watching her swim that day.  I often  ran into James around town, and never remember not walking away happy to have seen him.  He was always up beat and optimistic.   James your kind soul, warm smile, and commitment to being a good person will always remain in my memories of you.  Hugs to Taylor and James lV, he was so proud of both of you, know your daddy will be missed by many, me included.
I remember his kind support and eminent professionalism as I took over his position at the Westin Crown Center, many many years ago. He was a warm, supportive and highly skilled pastry chef and so much more! I'm saddened by his passing. My sincere condolences to his family and close friends.
