We are absolutely shocked and suddened by the news of Idris's passing..
Best athletic coach and ever and how lucky we were to know him and having training our son!
No matter how hard he pushed his athletes they always responded to him, they loved him! He had there best interests at heart!
We were truly lucky to have him train our son. He gave him the confidence he desperately so needed. We are absolutely devastated! Rest in Peace Idris. Are toughts are with your family and loved ones x
Dearest Idris,
I couldnโ€™t write this until I saw you laid to rest today.

I have now known you for over 11 years. During that time, you have been a good friend, a little brother and a colleague.

A Friend- Someone that has provided many moments of laughter, fun and banter. I particularly remember all of the bets I begrudgingly lost to you over Arsenal and the passion you argued over the LeBron v Jordan GOAT debate.
You have also been a fiercely loyal friend and a confidant I could always trust.

A Little Brother-Someone who always listened to advice and was driven to be better in all facets of life.
You also transcended into a big brother to my daughter. Something neither of us will ever forget and always treasure.

A Colleague- When I brought you to Sacred Heart School, I gave you one instruction-โ€˜To give Sacred Heart children the same opportunities as my daughter hadโ€™- Typical of you Idris, you took this and ran with it as fast and as passionately as you could!
You are someone who worked tirelessly to improve and nurture talent within our children at Sacred Heart. Your competitive nature shone through and our children adopted the same passionate approach. You were someone who was proud of all the success you brought to the children, the school, and of course your coveted Coach of the Year Awards.

Idris you touched the lives of thousands of children at Sacred Heart School, wanting the best for them to grow as sportspeople and human beings.
I will ensure your legacy is never forgotten at Sacred Heart. I promise you brotherโ€ฆ..
On second thoughts, you did that all by yourself.
The fact im writing this still doesn't feel real and I don't think I'll even be able to express the emotions that im feeling right now.

I'd live through the year 2020 100 times to have you back man. The empire you built, the countless hours you've put in, the ups and downs you've gone through weren't for nothing I SWEAR! You've changed so many lives and will continue to influence so many more in the future. You were more than a friend, more than a coach, more than role a model. You were the brother I needed and I thank you for the support and love you gave to me โค๏ธ.

Weโ€™ll see each one day but for now I'll hold down the fort. Guide me my brother.

Rest in perfect paradise โค๏ธ

Very sad to hear that Idris, such a young man has left this world. Our condolences to the Ojuriye family. May the Lord give you peace and help you through this difficult time. Idris was always one to give helpful advice to improve. I would only meet him sporadically but he would always have time for you. I hope all those who were close to him within the sporting world and beyond get through this in time. God bless.

I met Idris at Bacons college, he was a bright and cheerful person. One day we arm wrestled in front of the class, it took a lot to beat him but Idris doesnโ€™t like to give up and pestered me all the time for a re-match. He won on the re-match and we, along with friends kept the banter/challenge going, itโ€™s a fond memory I have of him.

My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family.
May ALLAH enter you into paradise my brother. Without judgment. Ameen We will miss you.
First Met Idris around 5 yrs ago when my eldest son first ever trained with him. He was so encouraging with the kids and full of energy the boys loved him. Very quickly if went from him training one son to him training all 3 of my sons with my youngest joining in at only 2 years old. He was so excited to see what Tafari would be like at his siblings age as he called him a little beast. All my children loved Idris including my daughter who he was also so pleased to see would pic her up and chat away to her. He was truly a natural with children and not one child that he has worked with will forget him. Idris had a lot to give his heart was big and his legacy will live on through all his work he has done.

Ever since I started training at Sutton at the age of 16, Idris was always present with a huge smile, a fun-loving enthusiast who took great pride in his training and work; always looking out for others. As a younger athlete at the time, his presence at the indoor track was something that would always bring a smile to your face and inspiration to not just be a better athlete but also a better man. Sending all my best wishes and health to his family and Rachelle who has always been such a bright light for Idris. Love to you all.

Idris, you knew everyone at Sacred Heart and more importantly had time for everyone. Your joy and pride in your successful athletic team, that you built up through sheer hard work and dedication, was shared by all the staff. Rest in Peace.
Idris, from all past and present PE staff & students of Notre Dame we want to thank you. Without your love, care, support and selfless nature Notre Dame athletics would not exist. You have been such an inspiration to us all and we are all truly heartbroken.
On a personal note I will cherish all of the banter and chats we had during training & at competitions, your passion for life and athletics was infectious. You have left a big hole in our hearts and we will never forget you.
To Idrisโ€™s loved ones, please accept our deepest condolences, we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Rest in peace,

Emilly Sanderson
