Ian has been a part of our family’s story for a long time. His mum, Lynette, and my mum, Jill, went to school together in Adelaide and remained close friends throughout their lives. That connection meant our families grew up alongside each other. My brothers—Joe, Sam, and I—spent our childhood playing with Ian and Linda, and later, when Ian moved to Adelaide in his late teens and into his twenties, we welcomed him back like family.
Ian had a natural presence. He was smart, confident, quick-witted, and full of energy. He made friends easily, and people were drawn to his warmth and his spark. He lived with passion, and it was infectious—you felt it just being around him.
It’s incredibly hard to believe he’s gone. So many people here in Australia and beyond are feeling the weight of his loss, trying to come to terms with the fact that someone so full of life is no longer with us.
We’ll miss him deeply.
Our love and thoughts are with Emma, Megan, and Matthew, and with Linda, Brian, and Lynette. We’re thinking of you and sending all our strength and support.

Heya Everyone. Never thought I'd be writing this. Firstly I offer my sincere condolences to the family. Ian was a big bundle of curious, funny, insight, mischief, rhythm, stories, terrible puns, salutations and loyalty. Oh and hugs. He loved hugs. He lived and shared life to its fullest always present and in the moment. I'm certain his light will forever be with Emma, Megan, Matthew. Walk on for he is with you. To everyone who had the opportunity to know this incredible fella... carry a bit of Ian into every day. Secondly I'm gonna miss him dearly. I've had the opportunity to work... well play... in this foolish business for a very long time. If I was feeling a tad down, or off, Ian would surely pick me up with an observation, a conversation renewed inspired by a pint fuelled adventure from another session or a witticism that yanked me outta my funk. So buddy... thanks for the memories. Until we meet again.
Love,
