My heart goes out to Emma and the family. Ian was a good guy through and through. I loved how he was so quick to laugh and brought joy to everyone he met. While living with him in the 90’s he introduced me to the sport of cranial fridge lifting. One of many good memories…

Wow, I was shocked to hear of Ian’s passing especially as I haven’t had the opportunity to get to know this amazing funny man or to benefit from his building and repairing skills🤦‍♀️.  I hope you are uplifted in your grief by the memories of your super dad, husband, friend 😞🩷

In Loving Memory

From the very first day we met in Grade 8 at Kitsilano High School, a lifelong friendship began—one filled with laughter, support, and an unwavering bond that time and distance could never break.

Though life took us in different directions after high school, we always found our way back to each other. I’ll never forget the moment I looked out from my balcony and saw you moving in right across the street after returning from Australia. What were the chances? Suddenly, 18th and Cambie was filled with music, memories, and magic again.

We laughed, we sang, we lived. Every lyric of every Pink Floyd album, the Stones, Zeppelin, The Doors, The Who—our parents’ music became our soundtrack. And of course, every single word of Joe’s Garage, both sides, without missing a beat.

There are countless memories I hold close, and I look forward to sharing stories, laughter, and love with all the others whose lives you so deeply touched.

You were always the kindest, most supportive, and caring soul—and I’ll forever be grateful for every moment we shared.

With love,

One of your biggest fans,

Sarah
