Heidi was so worldly, so NYC, witty, personable and the one person that I aways looked forward to meeting while in Manhattan or speaking with in later years. I’m still struggling with why such a wonderful person would be taken away from us so soon, and I just can’t find any solace. I’m just so lucky to have known her since 1997 (McKinsey basement), and to have been the recipient of her friendship and always helpful if not life-altering advice. My daughter got to meet Heidi last July while she and I both happened to be in the Philadelphia area. The photo I shared is from that day.
My heart is so heavy and goes out to Fred, Lisa, Zachary, Zoe, Michael and the rest of the family as they try to process the loss of this beautiful girl.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Heidi’s passing. She was a friend, colleague and one of the most giving people I have ever met.

Dear Fred and the Kao family:
We have not been in touch for many years, but I heard of Heidi's passing and wanted to express my condolences to you all. What a beautiful person, who created a beautiful life and family with Fred and was clearly so deeply beloved by many. She leaves behind a strong and powerful legacy evident from her wide circle of friends and loved ones. We will be thinking of Heidi and of all of you and wishing you peace and comfort.
Sincerely, Katherine Liu
