Dear Zachary, I heard the sad news, I’m so sorry for your loss. I remember your mom as such a nice person. I remember when we made pizzas with her at your house in New York and mine got burned. So we shared your pizza.
I also remember you had a birthday recently… so happy birthday I wish you happiness, all your wishes to come true and anything you ever wanted. I really hope to see you soon in the USA or maybe in Israel when the situations here deescalates. Anyways hope to see you soon, Adam

Heidi and I met over 25 years ago in Hong Kong. We became fast friends and discovered we knew some of the same people. I dug through some old photo albums and was reminded of her smile, bright energy, and warm heart.
I am filled with many memories - Heidi taking me to the NYC hot spots back in the day. Crashing in the loft of her tiny UWS apartment. My 30th birthday bash organized by Heidi when I was passing through NYC. The laughter. Many talks about dating; she tried setting me up on more than one occasion even from opposite coasts. And of course karaoke nights, Mandarin pop style. I always think of Heidi when I hear 'Ting Hai' by A-Mei.
I will always cherish those memories of Heidi's friendship. My heart goes out to Fred, Lisa, Zachary, Zoe, and the Zee family during this difficult time.

To say I am shocked would be an understatement and I still cannot believe I will not hear her voice again.
I have so many fond memories of the time I spent with Heidi and Fred and when I got to meet Lisa, Zac and Zoe when I was in the US.
Heidi had a way of getting me to do things I had never done before – fly to the US for the first time, discover karaoke box in London Chinatown, shots!!
I am eternally grateful to her for enriching my life and giving me such wonderful memories.
My heart goes out to Fred and the children at this sad time, and I wish I could be there to give you all a much-needed hug but know that you are always in our thoughts.
Heidi’s light may not have burned anywhere near as long as it should have but it was definitely the brightest, I have seen.

I am heartbroken to hear that Heidi has passed away. I know only a handful of people with such an ability as she has to embrace life and joy and good food and friendship. She & I worked together in NYC in 1996-7. Like others have said, her friendly, open welcome to me made all the difference when I joined the McKinsey/PWC team. We had fun sneaking out of the midtown office to get a salami sandwich or go lipstick-shopping at Saks 5th Avenue. I am half-Chinese, but grew up in Minnesota. So Heidi's California & Taiwan knowledge and connections helped me learn more about other Chinese communities and cultural practices. She took me to Chinatown to have my first-ever soup dumplings, for instance. Heidi was so positive, adventurous, easy to be with, easy to love & admire, unpretentious. And so so so funny. Oh my goodness, did we laugh. My dear Heidi, you have been a gift person in my life. I will always cherish you and our time together. Sending love to your parents, whom you always spoke fondly of. And your beautiful beautiful family of Lisa, Zachary, and Zoe with wonderful Fred. I don't know why Heidi was taken from you. It makes no sense. And I am so sorry.
