So much to love about Heidi but what I loved most about her is the love and life she shared with Andy.  I’ve known Andy since little league baseball, then as friends in high school, lifeguards in the summer, phish phriends post-college, and mountain bike adventurers after that.  The Cassman’s (Ryan, Stephanie, Nick & Victoria) have so many special memories ‘hosted’ by Andy and Heidi.  Adventures in Colorado and Utah for me, my wife and I for our wedding anniversary, and my whole fam damily skiing in Avon.   We met them in Indiana, an unplanned cameo in Chicago and even this past June in Vegas at the Sphere for a concert.   So grateful we got to party with her this summer. 
While I knew Heidi through Andy, she forged her own connections with me and my family. She was perceptive and intuitive…I think she first wondered aloud if my daughter had pneumonia on our ski trip (and she did).  She and Andy are some of my kids favorite illegitimate family despite not seeing them that often. 
Heidi was comfortable at any altitude, concert, dinner, desert or party.  Introduced me to good après-tequila. One of my core memories is in the desert, camping with the bike crew, in Halloween masks, telling stories.  We love you, Heidi.    Ryan, Steph, Tori & Nick

Heidi was a super smart woman. I completed my Masters Program with her and she was always done with her work in an instant. She was a super student. Gonna miss her beautiful smile and her teachers and staff always, always spoke highly of her. That’s saying a lot for us teachers! You will be missed.

This news is unfathomable to me. I can't imagine anyone I have ever known who has had such a spirit of adventure and who could do so many things. On learn to ski days, she was impossible for someone like me to keep up with. I remember when she first interviewed for the principal's job at Edwards Elementary. She was so young, but definitely the right person for the job! Here's to more adventures, Heidi, in the great beyond.

The role of a ski patroller's girlfriend can be viewed as a transient one in the town of Edwards CO. Especially one fresh off the red-eye from NYC such as myself. Heidi welcomed me into her home and her circle of friends for many fun and comfortable dinner parties. She was a flawless host who treated friends like family and acquaintances like friends. May her inclusive spirit and love of life shine on in all of us.

I was walking in the hills above Barcelona when l heard about Heidi’s passing. As l looked out at the view a beautiful ray of light shone through the grey clouds onto the ocean. I worked at BFIS as the High School counsellor and only had a few interactions with Heidi. But, l felt her light with every encounter… just like the ray of sunlight l could see clearly her essence…. Pure kindness, compassion and love. For sure she will be deeply missed by loved ones and my hope is that you find some comfort and peace as you grieve. My thoughts and prayers are with you and l like to think Heidi rests now in that beautiful ray of light.
