Words cannot express how sad and shocked I was to hear this. GK was hands down one of my favorite people I have ever worked with. A phenomenal mentor, friend and leader-- I have learned so much from him and will truly miss him dearly. We spoke often about career and family and building teams. He has always been the first person I call when making any big career and life decisions because his perspective was always so honest and complete. Always with a big smile on his face and quick wit, I will miss that so much. He showed me what a good sales leader and human someone should strive to be when leading a team and inspiring those around you. A true connector and teammate. My favorite memory was when our company did our commercial meeting with the Star Wars theme. The team and words GK left me with have absolutely stuck with me all these years later. I will miss George very much and wish we were able to connect in person one last time when we were both out on the East Coast. Life is so short. George- you are an inspiration for me and a true role model. I will miss you dearly my good friend and your laugh and smile even when things are tough.

Sincere condolences to all family members and anyone that has the pleasure and privilege to know him.

I'll miss you!

My condolences to George’s family. I first met George when we worked for competing companies, and later had the privilege of working with him as a colleague. He will be missed.

An incredible human being left this world too early. George - I miss you dearly and you will be in my heart forever.
George Kopitas is my dad. A strong, handsome, caring, loving, hilarious, and sometimes quiet man. I loved his laugh. It sounded like an asthma attack at the beginning, but then he leaned back and began to clap and chuckle. I always made fun of it. He always took care of me and made the most delicious food. I remember helping him marinate steak and preparing meals. It was a lot of fun. My favorite names that he called me were “tiger”, “Marina ballerina”, and “koukla”. When we would visit Chicago, we made fun of my Pappou for watching WWE while standing up and doing aerobics. We also made fun of the “fruitaki” that my Yiayia would cut up and force us to eat. The apples tasted like onion, and the mango was warm and mushy. We enjoyed it, though, because we were there together. I have so many incredible memories with him that I would be happy to share with the world. *EDIT* Also, yesterday, I set up a Gofundme for him, but my mom made me delete it. It’s really beautiful to see how caring and generous people are. I appreciate you guys supporting here. Thank you for being the best Baba ever.

George, thank you for everything man. You will never be forgotten. We will honor your memory by carrying forward the lessons you taught us, by leading with compassion, and by always striving to be better — not just in our work, but in how we care for those around us.

Rest in peace, my dear friend. You have left an indelible mark on this world, and we are better for having known you.

My sincerest sympathies to the Kopitas family. Some of the best times I’ve had in the last 25 years have been working with George - Clontech, Dharmacon, CDI.

With George, you always knew you were going to have fun, you were always going to get the job done and you were going to do it the right way.

He was one of the best and will be truly missed!

RIP GAK

Life's not fair. George will live on in the heart of all who knew him, we really miss you man!
