I am tremendously lucky to have known George and to be included in the circle of friends with Nick Spanos, Michael Karloutsos, Andy Veniopoulos, and others.

At the time, I worked for Governor George E. Pataki in his Manhattan office and I oversaw Greek American relations. We all shared many amazing memories and adventures working with the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, the Governor, and President George W. Bush. George stood out as being the kindest and most polite of us, and I count myself in that as well.

The only time I’ve ever been to Chicago, to date, is for George and Marina’s wedding. I’m so grateful that I was able to attend the wedding.

Rest in peace and I’m sorry I am unable to pay our respects and condolences (Alison, Ares [11 years], and I) in person.

My sincere condolences. May his memory be eternal and a blessing to all who knew and loved him. George was one of the good guys!

We didn’t work together for long, but we stayed in touch after I left MB. GK made a point to check in on my baby boy or to harass me about the Yankees beating the Red Sox. He was a kind and caring person who will be missed dearly. It was a privilege to know him.

I will miss you GK.  Thank you for your mentorship, friendship, and leadership over the years.  I have comfort knowing that we talked last week, and I was able to share these thoughts with you, and express my admiration.  My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to your family and closest loved ones.
There aren’t many people in this world making a Monday a happy day just by wishing you a „happy Monday“. George was such a friendly, loyal and positive person who was able to brighten up my day. I really miss him! I’m sending my sincere condolences to all his family members.
We’ll miss you, George. No one will ever live up to the bar you’ve set for throwing the best GSM’s! The world, your family, friends, and people who could’ve known you but weren’t lucky enough to have met you, are forever at a loss. Rest in peace, GK!!
I am devastated to hear about George’s sudden passing. He was one of the most kind-hearted and genuine people I’ve ever known, always brightening the day with his warmth and kindness. His infectious smile and positive energy will be deeply missed. My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Sending love and strength ♥️
