I met George while working at UIC. He was working in the pharmaceutical/lab industry. As many others have mentioned, I was immediately struck by his kindness and intelligence. He was very easy to talk to. I was blessed that I crossed paths with him and called him a friend. Even though we lost touch when he moved on, I never forgot him. I was shocked to see his sudden passing on the St. Constantine and Helen Facebook page. My heart goes out to his family and friends. It is heartwarming to read the impact he had on so many lives. He was one of a kind, an angel on earth. May his memory be eternal.

George was taken far too soon from his family and friends. Meeting George for the first time in 1997 during His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew visit to the US and I got to know him. He was kind, generous, funny and although we didn’t cross paths too often, I considered him a friend.

I worked with George at Cellular Dynamics and remember just calling him GK for short. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He was a truly remarkable person—sincere and kind. I will always remember how he approached every conversation with thoughtfulness and how he listened with such care. His calm and level-headed nature, paired with his intelligence, made him someone I admired deeply. The suddenness of this loss is heartbreaking.
