I met George while working at UIC. He was working in the pharmaceutical/lab industry. As many others have mentioned, I was immediately struck by his kindness and intelligence. He was very easy to talk to.  I was blessed that I crossed paths with him and called him a friend.  Even though we lost touch when he moved on, I never forgot him. I was shocked to see his sudden passing on the St. Constantine and Helen Facebook page. My heart goes out to his family and friends. It is heartwarming to read the impact he had on so many lives. He was one of a kind, an angel on earth.  May his memory be eternal.
George "Gramps" was my good friend at the University of Illinois.  He was smart, funny, supportive and it was always a joy to be in his presence.  It's absolutely clear those qualities remained for the benefit of all who knew him over the years.  My deepest condolences to George's children, wife and his entire family.

George was taken far too soon from his family and friends. Meeting George for the first time in 1997 during His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew visit to the US and I got to know him.  He was kind, generous, funny  and although we didn’t cross paths too often, I considered him a friend.

Eternal be his memory!

I worked with George at Cellular Dynamics and remember just calling him GK for short. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He was a truly remarkable person—sincere and kind. I will always remember how he approached every conversation with thoughtfulness and how he listened with such care. His calm and level-headed nature, paired with his intelligence, made him someone I admired deeply. The suddenness of this loss is heartbreaking. My thoughts are with his wife and children during this incredibly difficult time.

I have two very special memories of George.  He walked me to my seat at Speros’ and Jenna’s wedding.  He was such a thoughtful young man.  His speech to Speros and Jenna at their wedding reception was charming, thoughtful and loving.  I offer a profound sense of loss for all who knew and loved him.
We are so sorry to hear this news and send warm condolences and prayers of comfort and love to the entire Kopitas family.  May George’s memory be eternal!  🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
My condolences to the family may his memory be eternal my husband george loved  working with him
I have fond memories of my first sales role in the field with George with his pencil written notes and impeccable and neatly folded suit jackets during our road trips, improvised dinners and fun long drives across Europe. He has been an inspirational role model with his calm attitude, positiveness and sharpness. My heartfelt condolences to George's family.
I will miss my friend.  George was the type of person we should all aspire to.  He was kind, genuine, generous, always optimistic and loved his family deeply.  I hope that his family can hold on to the great positive impact he had on so many people and that he will always be a part of them and with them.  I had the amazing pleasure to work closely with him throughout his career and marveled how he grew as a leader and a person.  He was the one that was "spectacular".
I am so devastated that we lost George- he was the most wonderful human - we started our sales careers together and grew up through the industry together. He was such a light for so many people. I honestly can't believe he is gone, the world lost an incredible soul. My deepest condolences to his beautiful family.  I can't imagine your pain.
❤️ George will be missed. My condolences to friends and family.
George was a constant presence at Mission Bio. He was the type of leader who was always there for us—whether in the field, during tough business review meetings, or offering support through difficult times. He was always the first to arrive, bright and early, with a Dunkin Donuts coffee in hand, ready for long days.  I'll really miss him. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
George was such a light in this world, such a kind and wonderful man who made a positive lasting impact on so many.   My condolences to the Kopitas family in your time of loss.  May his legacy and smile live on.
I'm saddened to hear about your passing, George. I’ll always remember your leadership, kindness, and humble nature. My heart and thoughts are with your family during this difficult time. Rest peacefully. 🤍
