My heart is broken. I know you are broken too. All I can offer is some flimsy tape to help hold things together, and the understanding that it won’t help and it will all fall apart. A lot. And for a long long time. And I’ll be there to fall apart with you if you need company. Sending you all of the love I can. 

Oh, Ed. I was so frustrated with you training me until I finally snapped and said some snarky remark and saw your eyes light up with mischief. We were besties after that, with every snide remark on my part said just to see that wicked smile. You’re close-talking and never-miss-anything habits made me so self-conscious, but your clear kindness, your encouragement, your wonderful laughter, and the love of life you exuded made me adore you. You took a piece of all of us with you, you selfish and greedy man. But you gave us so very much of yourself too. I guess, with time, I might forgive you. But it will be with A LOT of attitude, I promise.
