Edward Joel Warren, eighty years old, residing in La Crescenta, CA passed away on September 21, 2021 from metastatic pancreatic cancer. Ed was born on September 26, 1940 to Carl and Martha Warren of Jersey City, NJ. After graduating from high school, he received his undergraduate art degree from Montclair University and a Masters of Fine Art degree from Rutgers University. Ed went into graphic design and commercial art for a time, but decided his real passion was teaching art. With his wife, Sher, he realized his dream of having his own art schools that were devoted to teaching realistic, classical drawing and painting to children and teens. By the time of his passing, Drawn2Art was teaching over 4000 students a week in studios throughout California, in Oregon and in the state of Washington. For thirty-five years he devoted himself to creating and continuously improving the quality of the art programs and curriculum of Drawn2Art. Ed mentored many artists, many of whom have had long careers with Drawn2Art. Another goal Ed realized was to visit the greatest museums of the world. He traveled extensively to study the works of the great Masters, to enhance his artistic understanding. Ed is survived by his wife, Sher Warren to whom he was married for 50 years, his brother, Barry Warren, sister, Roni Friedman, his two daughters, Rachael Cartwright and Anna Sheklow, both of whom have careers with Drawn2Art, by his son, Dr. Daniel Warren, two son-in-laws, Mitch Cartwright and Edan Sheklow, a daughter-in-law, Makai Warren, and five grandchildren. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation is made in Ed's memory to the Memorial fund listed on site.
