To teach a child is to touch their life forever.

When I hear this phrase I think of Ed.  He has touched so  many lives in such a special way that cannot be compared.  He has opened the hearts of children, and he has given them the ability to share what is inside in such a memorable way.  His legacy will continue forever in the life of each child, and everyone they touch in the future.

I recently read this poem and hope it will bring comfort to all of you.

WE REMEMBER THEMBy:  Sylvan Kamens & Rabbi Jack Riemer

At the rising sun and at its going down; We remember them.At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter; We remember them.At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring; We remember them.At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer; We remember them.At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of the autumn; We remember them.At the beginning of the year and when it ends; We remember them.As long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a part of us as We remember them.

When we are weary and in need of strength; We remember them. When we are lost and sick at heart; We remember them. When we have decisions that are difficult to make; We remember them. When we have joy we crave to share; We remember them. When we have achievements that are based on theirs; We remember them. For as long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a part of us as, We remember them.

Never in my life have I met a person like Ed who's background and personality resemble so much of myself when I was younger. Ed was a powerhouse and a font of knowledge. He had so much to give and always gave more. All he wanted wanted was to share his gift with the world. In many ways he succeeded. He created something beautiful and wonderful that will outlive him for many years to come. All we can hope for is to carry on in his memory and make Drawn2art as amazing as it can be. He truly was the Walt Disney of art teaching. It's up to us now.

Such an amazing smile and big heart. I have nothing but fond memories. He was full of love and loved in return. So sorry for your loss. He will always be with you in your hearts.
Sending hugs and love
Eddie's smile lite up a room when ever he entered. He was the most caring, wonderful person I have ever known.  I am so sorry he is gone, It leaves a big hole in my heart

We're so sad about Ed's passing. He was such a good person. Always welcoming, loving, funny, warm.

Please let me know when we can make a donation to the fund.

I will never forget the very first day I worked for him. I was 15 and walked into his office wearing a Garbage tshirt ( it was 1998 so forgive me ). He looked at my shirt and said "Garbage...is that what you think of yourself." I answered "maybe". He smiled and replied, "Well, we are going to have to work on that." And we did. For the next 23 years that man taught me strength, confidence, humility and, above all, unconditional love. He not only gave me a job for 23 years, but also a passion to live for.
We loved Eddie so much.  His infectious smile and love of family and friends will be with us always. His joy of life and creative spirit will be forever.  We will miss him greatly.   Love, Fay and Joe
My brother fell in love with your daughter when I was in the 3rd grade, and that was it. From that moment on we were family. Over the last 3 decades the Sheklows and the Warrens have walked through life together. As a part of our unique and quirky family Ed always brought a sly wit, a soft heart, and a brightness to everything. I think his love of art made him want to see the beauty in everyone and made him want to put more beauty out into the world and he absolutely did that. He listened and he heard you, whether you were a small child, a sassy teen, or an adult, he listened and gave you and your feelings credence. He was generous and kind, seeking ways both large and small he could help. He was always ready with a warm smile or a ribbing joke, whatever the situation called for. He may not have been my blood, but he was a beloved member of my family and he will be deeply missed.
