My deepest condolences and sympathy for David's entire family. I worked with David as a technology partner at Goldman Sachs and he was a leader who always wanted to be in the trenches where the action was happening, engaging, sharing ideas, working with you. We designed a lot of technology together, but what I cherish most is the inspiration I received working with him which is still an influence in my life.

I met David when I joined GS out of college back in 1990 at 85 Broad. But it was the Fleet Street London office where I spent the most time with David being taught about books & records, guided on how to manage a team & multiple life lessons including dating, mentored on my career aspirations , and definitely challenged me on any and all subjects! We lost touch after I left GS to finish school full time and he headed to Bangalore..

During the recent time at home, I've been organizing pics including from my time in London and just received the photo scans last week. Had all good intentions of sharing these pics with him to reconnect but will share them them here for the family..

Even though we were not in touch - what he instilled in my early days stayed with me and his name always came up in any discussion when someone asked me- who influenced you .. RIP

I had the honour to be part of a unique opportunity with David, when we were a team sent to build Goldmanโ€™s India (David, Asif, Ravi and I). We had so many funny moments together that we should have written a book and there are so many to share. I built a friendship with somebody, whom I learned so much, he pushed and challenged me and I will miss immensely. I spoke to him a number of times this year and we talked of those memories. To his family, from when I met him to more recently, he was so proud of you kids words cannot explain and I know you will cherish the memories. #davidsimonsthelegend๐Ÿฅฐ
My thoughts and prayers are with David's family during this difficult time. I worked with David for many years and will never forget how he attacked each day with optimism and hope. He was always striving for excellence. I will never forget the rickshaw he bought in India to travel back and forth from the airport or the rule that you can't double cup your coffee in the morning because it was wasteful even if it was burning your hands. :-) He inspired his team and others that worked with him to do their best everyday. He was an amazing leader. We will miss you greatly. RIP.

My deepest condolences to Davidโ€™s family. I worked with Dave at GS and to me he epitomised why I joined the firm - he was passionate caring loyal humble brave smart strong and had total commitment and integrity. I worked for him in the 1990โ€™s - I left GS to work for other companies and to this day when I interview people I quote him - he used to say to me -Kathy donโ€™t sit in an office with your door closed thinking you made it - sit on the floor with the people who actually make this happen and never lose sight of the details or you lose sight of everything- I hold that close to myself every day - I will always remember him - I hope that helps to know how many people respect him.

Deepest condolences to Davidโ€™s family. I worked with David at GS during some very turbulent times. He was a manager, leader and role model to many, many people around the world. Iโ€™ll remember him as an adventurer, deeply caring of his people and someone who invested all his energy and passion in anything he chose to do. RIP

My condolences to the family. He was such a good soul, always hands on, always engaging and putting himself in our shoes. I had the pleasure to work with him for years in ICAP Brazil and since the first day he showed us he was more than a leader, that he wanted to be one of us. Will never forget one day, the ac broke and he went opening window by window and askig if we were ok and if we wanted to go home. Also, i had the imense pleasure of having him in my wedding. Thank you, David, for sooo many lessons and for the amazing pop tarts and "sucos verdes" you gave me. Will be missed for sure.
My condolences to the Simon family. I worked with Dave about 20 years ago. He was inspirational in his dedication to his teams and his family and his athletic pursuits. The world has lost a good man way too soon. My thoughts are with him and all who loved him.
Heartfelt condolences to the family ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

We have memories of Dave back in 2005 during GS bangalore Kirby days and then the move to crystal downs. We were around 300 employees then in bangalore and most of us knew each-other. Dave was a very friendly CEO and always humble and kind. I got the opportunity to interact with him on multiple occasions, as I was part of IT Infra and was managing administration and order management for GSIndia. Dave was always approachable and his admin then Vibha and I would have these funny chats with him especially when I had to get him to approve the GS paid Phone bills ๐Ÿ˜†. One of the most down to earth CEOโ€™s I have ever met and Iโ€™m sure heโ€™s an inspiration to many others. Itโ€™s been more than a decade but we can never forget people who have touched our lives in different ways. RIP Dave ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ˜‡

May God give his family and friends the strength to bear this sudden loss. In prayers.
